Southport performer Erin Oliver set to make West End debut in Oliver!

A young performer from Southport is about to step onto one of the world’s biggest stages as she makes her professional West End debut.

Erin Oliver, 21, has joined the cast of Oliver! at London’s Gielgud Theatre, where she will appear in the ensemble of the iconic production.

Erin graduated from Liverpool Theatre School in 2023 after completing three years of professional musical theatre training.

Her love of performing began when she was just five years old, taking part in local productions before going on to develop her skills in singing, dance and acting during her time at the Liverpool-based performing arts school.

Speaking about her West End debut, Erin said she is thrilled to be joining such a well-known show.

She said the training and audition preparation she received at Liverpool Theatre School helped build her confidence as a performer, adding that reaching the West End has always been a dream.

Principal Maxine Ellis said Erin’s success is a proud moment for the school.

She said Erin always showed natural talent and dedication during her training, and seeing her perform on the West End stage highlights what students from the school can go on to achieve.

Graduates from Liverpool Theatre School have previously appeared in major productions including Six, Mamma Mia!, Wicked, Blood Brothers and Frozen.

The school, which has been training performers for more than 85 years, offers full-time professional courses in musical theatre and dance, as well as opportunities for younger performers through its Junior Academy for under-16s.

Auditions for the next intake are now open, with bursaries and fully funded places available.
