Wirral café pulls in crowds from across the region

Food lovers are travelling from across the region to get a taste of The Blind Cow – the small but mighty café that’s quickly become one of the Wirral’s hottest dining spots.

Tucked away on Town Lane in Bebington, the venue has built a reputation well beyond the peninsula, recently being named one of the best food and drink spots in the area by readers of the Wirral Globe.

Open seven days a week, The Blind Cow has made its name with big-hitting breakfasts and brunches, serving everything from classic full English plates to loaded bagels, wraps and gourmet burgers. Its growing popularity means tables are in high demand, with bookings often essential.

The café has also attracted a loyal following that includes visitors from Liverpool and Chester, alongside familiar faces like Jack McMullen and a wave of local influencers.

But it’s not just what’s happening inside that’s turning heads. The team’s spin-off concept, The Blind Spud, has become a hit in its own right, with queues regularly forming for its loaded jacket potatoes served from a trailer – with toppings ranging from minted lamb to fully custom creations.

There’s also a strong community focus at the heart of the business. Every Friday, the team delivers free meals to local people nominated on social media, offering a boost to those who need it most and building an even stronger connection with customers.

As the sun goes down, the venue switches things up. On Friday and Saturday nights, The Blind Cow transforms into an intimate restaurant, serving up pizzas, burgers and steaks that have quickly gained a reputation as some of the best around.

General Manager Callum Hackett said the growth has been huge in a short space of time.

He said: “We’ve been here for 18 months and it’s gone from strength to strength. We’re often fully booked for breakfast and brunch, so I’d definitely recommend booking ahead – especially after being voted Best Breakfast in Wirral.

“The restaurant side has been just as popular, and The Blind Spud has been a massive hit too, with queues down the road. Even though we’re a bit tucked away, people are travelling miles to visit us and we’re really proud of that.”

With packed-out tables, queues down the street and a growing reputation across the region, The Blind Cow is proving that you don’t need a city centre postcode to become a must-visit foodie destination.
