It’s all going on in The Neighbourhood!

ITV’s ground-breaking reality series is set to become one of the hottest shows on telly when it starts next week.

The show will see families and households – including a Scouse one! – battling it out for a life-changing cash prize.

So to make sure we’re all glued to our screens, here’s everything you need to know about this must-see TV …

What is The Neighbourhood?

The Neighbourhood is a brand-new reality show that sets households against each other on a street-sized popularity contest. The 11-part series will see real-life households from all walks of life moving in next to each other, becoming neighbours – and competitors, with the chance to vote each other out.

They’ll be with one another 24/7, sleeping and eating in their houses and socialising between them, and facing challenges that will change the dynamics behind closed doors. To win, they need to defeat their neighbours while still staying popular on the street.

When does it start?

It starts on Friday, April 24, at 9pm, airing on ITV1 and ITVX.

What’s the prize up for grabs?

A cash pot of £250,000!

There are six families/households taking part, including:

  • The Kandolas and Samra – a blended family from Bedfordshire
  • The Bradons – a three-generational family of five from Essex
  • The Pescuds – from Cambridgeshire, it’s Paul and Wendy and their two children
  • The Uni Boys – four close student friends from Nottingham
  • The Lozman-Sturrocks – a close-knit family from Darlington with husband and wife Christine and
  • Dave, son Jordan and his wife, Katie
  • And, last but absolutely not least- The Scouse Haus – twin sisters Louise and Lyndsey, and Lyndsey’s girlfriend, Rosie

So, what do we know about The Scouse Haus?

Louise and Lyndsey are 25 and Rosie is 28, and they’re all ‘proud Scousers’ who live together in the city centre. They’re all baristas too. They wanted to be involved for a chance to do ‘something as mad as this’ – says Louise – and think they make a good team as they all have each other backs.

What do we know about The Scouse Haus?

They’re all baristas – Louise and Lyndsey are 25 and Rosie is 28, and they’re all ‘proud Scousers’ who live together in the city centre. They leapt at the chance to do ‘something as mad as this’ – says Louise – and they reckon they make a good team because, as Rosie reveals: “We’ve got each other’s backs. Not in a way where we’ll blindly egg each other on to do whatever we want to do, but in a way that we’re close enough to say ‘I don’t think you should say or do that’.”

They were each allowed to take something into The Neighbourhood to make their house there a home. Lyndsey took her childhood blanket, Louise took her own pillow, and Rosie took her Elvis teddy and her guitar.

Where is it filmed?

It’s filmed on a purpose-built street set in Derbyshire, complete with houses, a café and a pub.

Who is hosting it?

And this is where – and why – we know it’s going to be TV gold, because it’s being hosted by the telly genius that is Graham Norton.

Why is Graham so excited about The Neighbourhood?

Graham says the originality of The Neighbourhood appealed to him and he says: “It leans into our curiosity about what’s behind closed doors and there’s something really compelling and addictive about seeing the way the existing households interact with each other.

“We can all relate because unless you’re very, very rich, you probably have neighbours!”

What’s his favourite thing about it?

“One of the loveliest things about the show is seeing households who would never meet in real life, not only meeting but forming proper bonds of friendship.  There are a few moments in the show that really do bring a tear to my eye because it’s just so genuine, so lovely and properly heartwarming.”
