John Grinnell, Chief Executive of Alder Hey, said:
“We’re incredibly proud that Springfield Park has been recognised with a Green Flag Award.
“The park is an important part of the healing environment we provide for children, young people and families, while also offering a fantastic green space for our local community.

“This award is testament to the dedication of everyone involved in caring for and developing the park, and a special thank you goes to Friends of Springfield Park, Liverpool City Council and everyone in the community who has helped create this amazing space.”
The Green Flag Award is managed by Keep Britain Tidy and is recognised around the world as the benchmark for high quality parks and green spaces.
Judges assess parks against a wide range of criteria, including environmental management, biodiversity, accessibility, safety, maintenance and community involvement.

The award reflects the ongoing commitment to keeping Springfield Park clean, welcoming and accessible while continuing to protect and enhance its natural environment for future generations.
More than 2,000 parks and green spaces across the UK and around the world have now achieved Green Flag status, recognising the vital role they play in supporting local communities and protecting nature.
