Merseyrail welcomes suspension of this weekend’s industrial action
1 minute ago
Merseyrail has welcomed the postponement of planned RMT strike action scheduled for this weekend following the submission of an improved pay offer.
The improved offer will now be issued by the RMT to its members for consideration in a formal ballot. As a result, the industrial action planned for this weekend has been postponed while members have the opportunity to vote on the revised proposal.
Services are therefore expected to operate as normal across the Merseyrail network between Saturday 18 and Monday 20 July, including services supporting customers travelling to and from The Open Championship at Royal Birkdale. The previously announced contingency timetable will no longer be required.
