A brand new drive-in cinema is coming to Hill Dickinson Stadium this summer

Hill Dickinson Stadium will host its first-ever drive-in cinema this August Bank Holiday weekend, as Movies on the Mersey brings three days of big-screen entertainment to Everton’s waterfront home.

Taking place at Hill Dickinson Stadium across Saturday 29 August, Sunday 30 August and Monday 31 August, the event will give families and film fans the chance to enjoy a unique cinema experience from the comfort of their vehicle, with films shown on a giant LED screen overlooking the River Mersey on the stadium footprint.

As the sun sets over the Mersey, guests will be able to tune in through their car radio via FM transmitter and enjoy a programme of family favourites, classic sci-fi comedy, much-loved musicals and a special Everton screening.

The weekend opens on Saturday 29 August with Disney-Pixar favourite Finding Nemo at 6pm, followed by the feel-good musical Mamma Mia! at 9pm.

On Sunday 30 August, Grease will be shown at 6pm, before the time-travelling classic Back to the Future takes to the big ‘silver screen’ screen at 9pm.

Tickets for Saturday and Sunday screenings are priced at £30 per vehicle, inclusive of all guests seated safely inside the vehicle. Each ticket includes access to the stadium footprint, a designated parking space with a view of the big screen and in-car audio via FM transmitter.

The weekend concludes on Bank Holiday Monday with a special 7.30pm screening of Howard’s Way. Entry will operate on a pay-what-you-want basis, allowing guests to choose their contribution, with every donation supporting the life-changing work of Everton in the Community.

For those wishing to attend without a vehicle, a dedicated lawn area will also be available, with guests able to bring their own chair. Admission to the lawn area is priced at £10 per person.

Food and drink outlets will be available throughout the weekend, alongside toilet and refreshment facilities.

“To be able to bring people together on the waterfront for a new family-friendly event, while also supporting Everton in the Community, makes this a really special addition to our summer events programme.”
