The first week of September in packed! Check out the best events happening this week in Liverpool.
We’ve just about caught our breath after an incredible weekend in Sefton Park, rocking out with Kings of Leon and singing our hearts out with Little Mix at Fusion. Looking ahead, its a busy one, this week in Liverpool.
We hope you’re hungry! There’s two brand new food and drink festivals making their debut, both Albert Dock and Wirral’s Birkenhead Park are lining up tasty treats across the weekend. Reminisce Festival takes us back and Southport Air Show raises our eyes to the skies. Elsewhere we’ve got movie quizzes, incredible theatre, psychic nights, delicious food, morning meditation and loads more.

Monday 2nd September
Lunch at Slim’s, Bold Street
Brand new NYC-style diner, Slim’s opened its doors at the weekend and we’re hearing great things about the menu! Breakfast, lunch and dinner is served at this former Love Thy Neighbour venue – all with a pinch of Slim’s undeniable style. The Mac & Cheese burger is a must! Menus here.
All Aboard ARC Gloria, Cruise Liverpool
Ever wanted to wander around a Colombian Naval ship? Well Monday is your lucky day. Head to Cruise Liverpool at Princes Parade from 10am until 6pm to enjoy a tour of this stunning ship and meet the crew. More info here.

Tuesday 3rd September
Blood Brothers, Liverpool Empire
Willy Russell’s epic, moving tale of brothers Mickey and Eddie comes home to the Liverpool Empire Theatre from Tuesday until Saturday 14th September. Separated at birth and growing up on either sides of the tracks, this incredible story of two brothers will give you goosebumps guaranteed. Tickets here.
The Great British Bake Off Screening, Bean There Coffee Shop
If there’s two things that will never fail to perk up our Tuesday night, it’s eating cake while watching other people make cake. Head to Bean There Coffee Shop on Smithdown for a truly calorific screening of GBBO. Info here.
Cerys Matthews, Where The Wild Cooks Go, Epstein Theatre
Former Catatonia frontwoman, Cerys Matthews brings her love of music and food together in a one woman show at the Epstein Theatre on Tuesday night from 7:30pm. Tickets here.
Wednesday 4th September
Morning Mediation, Sefton Park Palm House
Suitable for beginners, why not enjoy a short, meditation session in the beautiful setting of Sefton Park? Taking place on Wednesday mornings at 10:45am, these meditations are guided by Kelsang Gogden, a Buddhist nun from Kadampa Meditation Centre Liverpool on Aigburth Drive. Book here.
Mythos – A Trilogy by Stephen Fry, Liverpool Philharmonic Hall
There’s still a few tickets remaining for Mythos A Trilogy by Stephen Fry, written and starring the man himself. Taking place at the iconic Liverpool Phil on both Wednesday and Thursday you can expect a laugh-out loud funny, mind-blowing and often personal performance from an expert story-teller. Tickets here.

Liverpool Indie Choir, Constellations
Liverpool Indie Choir is back at Constellations belting out the biggest and best indie anthems. No auditions, no sheet music, just a boss atmosphere with a bunch of people who like to get loud. Find out more here.

Friday 6th September
Southport Air Show
The thrilling Southport Air Show returns to the seaside town, all weekend from Friday. As well as an incredible three day show in the skies, there’s also an air show village, VIP, food and drink and lots of family friendly entertainment to enjoy. Find out more here.
Gin to My Tonic Show, Exhibition Centre Liverpool
The Gin To My Tonic Show is one of the largest gin festivals in the UK and it returns to Exhibition Centre Liverpool this weekend. Offering a rare opportunity for gin enthusiasts to meet-the-makers and taste and buy more 60 premium gin and mixer brands, this is a must for gin lovers.
Circus Album Launch, Sefton Park Palm House
Circus returns to the Palmhouse in Sefton Park on Friday. Circus & Circus Recording’s Yousef headlines this special event, unveiling his new Album Project “9 Moor Drive” at this UK leg of his album launch, where his extended set will feature an album play through for the first time anywhere. Off The Tusk, Tusk Baltic
‘Off the Tusk’ at Tusk Baltic is a stand up comedy event raising money for the Michael Causer Foundation. Free to attend, get yourself down there on Friday from 8pm and support an amazing organisation dedicated to raising awareness, providing education and supporting people from the LGBTQ+ community. Saturday 7th September
Albert Dock Food Festival, FEAST
Royal Albert Dock Liverpool is hosting its first ever free, food and drink festival this month. FEAST will bring more than 40 different food, drink and lifestyle stalls to the inner Albert Dock on Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th September. There’s also masterclasses on the floating pontoon, kids pizza making classes, street theatre and more. Info here.
Wirral Food & Drink Festival
Birkenhead Park is going to be a hive of activity this September. Part of the year long Borough of Culture events programme, Wirral Food & Drink Festival brings celeb chefs and local restaurants, bars and producers to Birkenhead Park on both Saturday and Sunday. All the event info here.
Reminisce 2019
Have you seen the amazing line up of international and homegrown DJ’s and live acts heading to Reminisce Festival? Taking place at Sherdley Park, St Helens on Saturday, get back to the old skool with Ultra Nate, Whigfield, D:Ream, Urban Cookie Collective, DJ Lee Butler and more than 150 others.
Lightning Seeds Live, Birkenhead Park
Lightning Seeds will headline an incredible evening of live music in Birkenhead Park on Saturday night alongside iconic bands The Christians and China Crisis. Bongo’s Bingo Christmas Shows
You heard it here first, the Bongo’s Bingo christmas show theme and dates are in and tickets are on sale. Along with mesmerising host Jonny Bongo and his merry band of dancers, 16 in-genie-ous festive-filled shows will have everyone dancing to the rafters at Content, Bongo’s Bingo new home in the Cains Brewery Village.
