Find out how to get your hands on a ticket for the city’s wildest night out.
We’re not sure there’s a harder working team in the city than the Bongo’s Bingo gang, well if you can call showering people in Coco Pops, space-hopping, slut dropping dance routines a full on pantomime of madness, work?
Rapidly approaching its 4th birthday in 2019, Bongo’s Bingo has enjoyed international success, taking the old skool game with the new skool twist, down under and around the globe. With shows selling out weeks in advance, Johnny and the team have partied with amazing special guests including Kelis, Vengaboys, So Solid Crew, Boyzlife, Fat Man Scoop, Blazin Squad and er, Jeremy Corbyn!
If you’ve never been to Bongo’s Bingo, where the hell have you been? Go for the bingo, stay for the rave! It all starts out quite civilised, bingo books, dabbers, felt pens, massive rounds of drinks, and then the Coco Pops come. Expect to find them in your bra, hair and drinks. We’re talking dance offs, karaoke, hysterical and slightly erotic dance performances. You’ll have no voice left because every song is a banger, from Kanye to the Proclaimers, there’s no shame in knowing all the lyrics here. In fact, it’s rewarded.
In December alone Bongo’s Bingo put on 80 shows across the UK and internationally, with 19 of those dates being the hilarious ‘Bingo is the Word’ Grease-inspired panto shows at Camp & Furnace. Alongside the weekly mayhem, Bongo’s Festive Houseparty bar also threw open its doors at Liverpool’s Cain’s Brewery Village, and oh god the hangovers we’re monumental. Boozy slushies, all the Buckfast and an amazing playlist had us bouncing until the small hours throughout Christmas.
From its home in Liverpool to the other side of the world, Bongo’s Bingo reached the party capitals of the globe in 2019 including a weekly residency at Eden, Ibiza, the Amsterdam Party Boat and Rise Festival in the French ski resort of Les Deux Alpes. Us Scousers love it, the Cockneys can’t get enough and the Geordies have snapped up entire show tickets in less than 2 minutes.
With an international team of 50 people now on board 2019 is going to be massive. We caught up with BB’s Lauren to talk fave shows, 2019 plans and how to get our hands on the most coveted ticket in town.
Lauren said: “One of our favourite shows throughout the festive period was our show for Age Concern at The Poppy Centre in Anfield. Obviously we had to tone the show down a bit with it being for the elderly (no double ended dildos) but with bingo originally being a game belonging to their generation, we felt like it was only fair to pay them a visit and spend some time with them at Christmas when it can often get a little lonely for them.”
“In terms of acts for 2019, we can’t divulge anything just yet however we can promise we have a huge act lined up for our 4th birthday party at the start of summer. We also have Cascada joining us at Camp and Furnace in February which has already sold out.”
Whether you’ve got your heart set on a Henry Hoover, life-sized ride on pony, a Porsche or a luke-warm bottle of Lambrini, getting your hands on a ticket is the first step of planning the best, unforgettable night out. Lauren gave us her top tips for securing a ticket and being right at the front to see Slutty Sue ride that spacehopper like a champ!
3 Top tips for getting your tickets to Bongo’s Bingo in 2019….
1 – Watch Your Inbox
Sign up to the BB mailing list through the website. You can register interest through the subscribe box on the Bongo’s Bingo homepage which means you’ll be notified via email before the team put tickets on sale to give you a bit of warning.
2 – Eyes Down on Socials
Keep an eye on socials. Make sure you’re following the Bongo’s Bingo Insta and Facebook page for regular reminders and updates about tickets
3 – Mid Week Delight
