Half Term Boredom Busters: 7 things to do with the kids this weekend in Liverpool

Half term is almost done but with a whole weekend still to come, we’re lining up more fun ideas to see you through until Monday.

With Chinese New Year, Karting, Podcasting, fun on Formby Beach and rock star disco’s, half term in Liverpool is still bursting with great activities to suit kids of all ages. The weather is looking good so we’re dusting off our wellies, trainies and dancing shoes to burn off some energy and enjoy some fresh air fun! Older kids can get into podcasting, learn more about our local beaches and wildlife and if all else fails, there’s fortune cookies and dragon parades to enjoy all weekend long.

Here’s 7 things you can do with the kids this weekend in Liverpool….

1 – Little Rock Stars Disco, Camp & Furnace

Fancy dancing to all the best Beatles songs with your little ones this Sunday? Get down to Camp & Furnace from 11am craft and art tables, facepainting, multi-sensory dance-floor, inflatables, balloons, glow sticks, soft play, and a top disco. Tickets and info here. 

2 – Learn how to Podcast at Toxteth Library

Trying to get the kids off their tech during half term can be a challenge, so why not make it more fun and pick up a new skill as Toxteth Library holds a ‘Podcasting’ session on Friday from 10am. Learn how to record, edit and make your voice heard. This is a free session. Info here. 

3 – Chinese New Year 2018

The Chinese New Year party atmosphere takes over the city this weekend as three days of celebrations begins at 7:30pm on Friday night. Treat the kids to a traditional Chinese meal and get a first glimpse at the stunning illuminations at The Black E and Chinese Arch. 4 – Fun on Formby Beach

The weather is looking better for the weekend so why not head up to Formby Beach and join in the February Beach Clean? Do your bit for the environment, build a knock-out sandcastle and burn off some energy before a well earned ice-cream! More on the organised walks here. 

5 – Gaming and Munchies at Tiny Ricks

Liverpool is now home to the UK’s first board game and cereal café and so getting your little ones to eat breakfast is no longer a struggle! Head down to Grand Central on Renshaw Street, grab a bowl and some retro cereal before starting a kick ass game of Monopoly! More on Tiny Ricks here. 

6 – Unlimited Track Action at TeamSport Karting

Teens ( age 13+) are invited to test their stamina on the track at TeamSport Karting with Unlimited Sunday sessions. With 50 minutes worth of karting, this format requires stamina and confidence – so prepare to get competitive and stand out from the crowd! Booking and more info here. 

7 – Get Crafty at Zap Graffiti

Get crafty at Zap Studios this Saturday with a graffiti session that you and the kids can enjoy together. Learn how to create your own masterpiece and take it home to show off! All the materials and gear are supplied and it’s best enjoyed by those age 5 and over. Book your spot here.
