8 Reasons why Autumn is the best time to visit Liverpool
7 years ago
Yes it’s officially Autumn! Get ready for crisp mornings, stunning sunsets and wrapping up warm for bommie night.
If you don’t love Autumn, you can’t be in our gang. Seriously though, who doesn’t love walks in the park, living on pumpkin spice lattes? Making plans to meet up with mates for bommie night, Christmas markets and girls, how made up are we to be getting back into tights? Are we right? Our city is a stunner all year round but Autumn really is a great time to visit Liverpool.
Here’s 8 reasons why Autumn is the best time to visit Liverpool….
1 – The Sunrises and sunsets
Just look at that! The city skyline looks incredible with the autumnal sunrise backdrop and our friends over on the Wirral get the best view. Feeling energetic? Why not take your morning jog or evening stroll over at New Brighton and watch the sun bathe the city in light, or grab a coffee and watch the sun go down from Marine Point. You wont regret it.
2 – The Parks
There are so many parks and greenspaces across Merseyside, you could visit a different one every day for a fortnight, and they offer up some breath-taking scenes during Autumn. Grab the kids, dogs, scooters, your loved one, or a bunch of mates and go for a wander in the cool crisp air and take some shots of your own. Show us your best Aumtumn pics, share them with us on Instagram @TheGuideLpool.
3 – Halloween Socials
Tick or treating isn’t just for kids on Merseyside! There’s tonnes of terrifying attractions to try out with your mates and lets face it, it wouldn’t be Halloween without a trip to Farmaggedon! With Spooky Welly Walks, scare-fest events at Camp & Furnace and a Day of the Dead parade, Autumn is all about getting together and making memories.
4 – The City at night
We know we bang on about it all the time, but Liverpool really is a beautiful city, and none more so than at night. Whether its taking in the sights and sounds of the bustling Mathew Street bars with its twinkly lights, or getting selfies at the Three Graces with the Liver Birds all lit up in the background and how utterly stunning does Albert Dock look when the sun goes down? Once those Christmas lights switch on, its like a little piece of Wonderland.
5 – Bonfire Night
Bonfire Night in Liverpool is another great family event that over the years has seen some incredible spectacles take place. From River of Light last year to Sefton Park and Newsham Park displays that thrill the masses who’ve wrapped up warm and stayed up late. The city is shrouded in fireworks fog and that smell returns…..you know the bonfire night smell? Ahhh that’s when it’s properly Autumn!
6 – Merseyside cafĂ© culture
We love Autumn so much that we even embarked on a Hot Chocolate Tour of the city last year! Days spent lounging in the park are replaced with coffee shop hang outs and testing as many new season blends as possible. Are you a pumpkin spice latte fan? We’re loving all the city hang outs from Cosy Club, Filter & Fox and Bold Street Coffee, to Muster Coffee, Moose and Moonshine and more. 7 – The Christmas Prep
Christmas is just around the corner……we know, it seems mad mentioning it this early but the tubs of Heros, Roses and Quality Street are already out in force and before you know it, late night shopping will be here too. We can reveal that the Liverpool One Christmas switch on event is planned for Thursday 9th November and it’s going to be awesome. Who doesn’t love getting into the festive spirit with a bit of shopping after work and a well earned glass of fizz?
8 – In a word…..Scouse
We don’t need any excuse to eat scouse all year round, but the city restaurants and cafes begin to stock up on this absolute autumn winner from around now too. We’re planning on trying out as many bowls as possible ahead of global scouse day 2018 and we’re totally open to suggestions! Where does the best scouse? Tweet us @TheGuideLpool.
