Watch as we take you back to Lip Sync Liv for Woodlands Hospice
7 years ago
Earlier this week we had the pleasure of welcoming on to the Camp and Furnace stage not one, not two but ten genuine pop superstars.
Watch as our Mark Byron takes you to Lip Sync Liverpool in the video above.
Everyone from Beyonce to Black Eyed Peas, Little Mix to Taylor Swift even MC Hammer made an appearance in Liverpool’s first ever Lip Sync Battle hosted by our very own Jay Hynd.
The aim was to raise as much money as possible for Woodlands Hospice in Aintree which provides care for terminally ill patients aged 18 and over and their families. The hospice has been looking after the people of Liverpool since 1996 and this night was the city’s chance to say thank you.
We went to visit Woodlands and you can watch that video below to find out exactly why the team really do need our help.
Woodlands needs over ÂŁ1m every year just to fund what it does and with the good people of Merseyside’s help during Lip Sync Liv over ÂŁ8000 was raised to go towards that.
Ten contestants took to the Camp and Furnace stage, they included model and presenter Rebeckah Vaughan, nurses from Aintree Hospital, fitness coaches Richie Swan and Carly Stew, Marketing Exec Lia Kennedy, John Gibbons from the Anfield Wrap and Ben Osu from local TV channel Made, plus many more.
After hundreds of texts votes were cast (in which all money went directly to Woodlands) it was John Gibbons from LFC Bible The Anfield Wrap and his lip sync of Taylor Swift’s ‘Shake It Off’ that won the show.
You can still donate now on your mobile, every penny goes directly to Woodlands Hospice in Aintree. Simply text WLSB17 alongside your donation amount to 70070. You can donate up to ÂŁ10 in one text and can text as many times as you like.
