The Christmas Dinner Wraps & Hot Toddies everyone is talking about in Liverpool
7 years ago
Sprouts or no sprouts, this is the way to enjoy Christmas dinner in Liverpool.
The Guide Liverpool team took their annual wander around Liverpool’s Christmas Market at St George’s Hall last week and what we discovered stopped us in our tracks.
Now it’s no secret that we love our food, our Instagram story is awash with desserts, comfort food and pizza on a daily basis, but the ultimate dish, the one we look forward to every year, just got even more amazing. The Christmas Dinner…Wrap has changed our lives for ever, and according to our social media stats, you lot feel the same. We posted a video on our Facebook page when we found them, and within three hours over 12 thousand of you had got as excited as us!
You get to enjoy a giant Yorkshire pudding, stuffed full with a choice of meat, vegetables, stuffing, cranberry sauce and gravy, which is lovingly wrapped in tinfoil for you to devour on the spot, because lets face it, there’s no time to waste in tucking in!
Stood around in a circle, dropping gravy down our coats and trying to give marks out of ten between mouthfuls, Jay and the team barely paused for breath while savouring every bite of this taste sensation. Christmas dinner all wrapped up.
The Christmas Wrap is just one of many stalls at the Liverpool Christmas Market that sells mouth-wateringly good traditional winter food. From Marshmallow Dreams (the coconut and Bailey’s ones are divine!) to German frankfurters loaded with onions and sauerkraut and crepes, waffles and of course a huge pic n’ mix selection, there’s a little foodie treat for everyone.
Local company The Whisky Lounge have a wide range of products available, perfect gift for you Dad this Christmas and another favourite stall of ours was the ‘make your own snow’ stand – prepare to be wowed!
The fun doesn’t stop there. With multiple bars serving up hot mulled wine, beers and luxury hot chocolates plus stalls selling personalised decorations, great stocking fillers including bath bombs and brilliant prints from local artists and even snow, you can also pick up some gifts while enjoying the atmosphere under the twinkly lights.
Another must is the Juniper 1933 horse cart, located at the entrance as soon as you walk in. Hot cranberry toddies, with Whitley Neil rhubarb and gingers served with orange, thyme and juniper berries. Then there’s the delicious Whitley Neil quince served with orange and cinnamon, and our fave was the chilli infused hot toddy with orange and cranberry mix.
Lots more on offer too and again you can indulge as much as you want until 22nd December. We have never smelt anything as Christmassy in our lives and our if you need warming up on a cold winters day then this is the stand for you. More info on Juniper 1933 here.
Get yourself down to the Liverpool Christmas Market, open daily until 22nd December and treat yourself to a Christmas Dinner without having to do the dishes! Click here for more info about Liverpool Christmas Market stalls and opening times.
