12 Merseyside Pubs open on Christmas Day for a festive drink

The 12 pubs of Christmas Present!
We asked where is the best place to go for a festive drink and fun-loving atmosphere on Christmas Day, because lets face it, once the presents and brekkie are done, you’re just getting in the way of dinner being served!
We’ve had a ring around and can confirm the following 12 Merseyside pubs are extending you a warm welcome on December 25th!
1 – The Royal Standard
The Royal Standard, on Town Row in West Derby invites you to stick your novelty knits on and join them for a few drinks on Christmas Day. The bar is open to the public from midday until 3pm. Don’t be snacking on crisps or you’ll ruin your dinner!
2 – Wetherspoons, The Navigator
This huge pub sits on the corner of East Prescot Road in Old Swan and Queens Drive and is wasting no time in getting the ale in on Dece 25th. The bar is open from 9am – 5pm, so you can get home in time for the Queen’s Speech!
3 – The Jolly Miller
This giant pub on the junction with Queens Drive and Mill Lane is also open on Christmas Day. You can expect a fantastic atmosphere, with Christmas hits playing and plenty of seats to have a Christmas day catch up with all the family. The bar open from 12 – 3pm.
4 – The Bear and Staff
Nestled in leafy Gateacre Village, L25 the Bear and Staff is hosting Christmas dinner this year but the bar is also open from 12 – 3pm. A Christmas day walk in this lovely suburb will set you right up for a belly full of turkey later on!
5 – The Rose of Mossley
Those in Allerton are invited to the gem that is The of Mossley, Rose Lane, L18 for festive drinks and plenty of good tidings this Christmas Day. The bar open from 12 – 3pm and we’re told the wonderful staff are up for a bit of a sing song too! All together now….Deck the halls…..
6 – The George
Take a stroll up to The George in the heart of Crosby Village after your dinner on Christmas Day and join in the festivities from 12 until 6pm. Put that karaoke machine to good use when you get in and continue the party at home!
7 – The Hillfoot Hotel
The Hillfoot in Hunts Cross is going all out this Christmas and you’re in for a festive treat. The bar is open from 12-9:30 AND there’s live music on from 6pm! How good is that? Glam up and dance that dinner off and be home in time for Corrie.
8 – The Farmers Arms
Friends on the Wirral, rejoice as there’s a whole host of pubs open for a festive pint on Christmas day. Firstly the Farmers Arms, Hill Bark Road, Frankby where the bar is open from 12 – 3pm for good times with great friends and family.
9 – The Anchor Inn
A hit during the summer for its al fresco dining area, The Anchor Inn Thurstaston Road in Irby is looking forward to greeting you with a warm welcome this Sunday. The bar is open from 12 so you can enjoy a Christmas drink in beautiful surroundings.
10 – Harvest Mouse
Having had a bit of a facelift, the Harvest Mouse, Pensby Road, Heswall is showing off its brand new look on Christmas day with the bar opening from 12 – 4pm. Don’t forget your new camera phone to get plenty of selfies!
11 – The Willowbank
You’re absolutely spoiled for choice at The Willowbank, Smithdown Road, L15. With locally produced Gin’s, countless rose wines and softails for the kids, there’s a drink for everyone. Maybe go easy on the jager bombs though, don’t want to miss your dinner! The bar is open from 12 – 6pm.
12- The Boathouse
Probably the most serene setting for a pub across Merseyside, The Boathouse, The Parade, Parkgate invites you to share a bottle of bubbles with friends of loved ones this Christmas as you relax in this traditional pub. The bar is open from 12 – 5pm and you’re guaranteed a warm welcome.
