Birkenhead’s Open Door Charity offering free mental health support
4 years ago
Following the announcement of Lockdown 3, the Open Door Charity were faced with the upsetting reality of needing to suspend face-to-face support sessions at the Bloom Building, Birkenhead.
While the team agreed that it was the right decision to protect the health of their members, they were ultimately concerned about the many young people who would be unable to access other support services at this time.Â
In response to this, the Open Door Charity has created an innovative new version of their CBT and Mindfulness programme, called âBazaarâ, that can be delivered entirely remotely. This creative programme encourages people to disrupt their negative thought processes and replace them with positive, resolute thinking strategies.Â
The Bazaar programme is available for free for anybody between 18 and 25 years old who is experiencing low mood, anxiety, or stress.
The Open Door Charity encourages anyone between the ages of 18 and 25 to sign up for their remote Bazaar programme by visiting the website here and selecting the âFree Bazaar Solus Licenseâ option in the âEnquiry Typeâ field. Following the enquiry a member of the Open Door Charity team will be in touch and will aim to set you up with a Bazaar account within 48 hours.
The Open Door Charity offers a range of services for young people and young adults who are suffering with anxiety, low mood, stress, panic attacks. Their mission is around âShaping Changeâ in mental health through Empowerment, Culture, and Opportunity. Access to the service is free and immediate – Open Door Charity are proud to have no waiting list, something they have strived for since opening in 2011.
Alongside their âBazaarâ programme, they provide the local community with a creative and social space, Bloom Building and Coffee, which offers hot desking, workshops and tenancies.
