From Grime to Psych, Liverpool has a gig for you this March.

Wiley, 24 Kitchen Street – 1st March 

Arguably the biggest Grime artist of all time, the pioneer MC that is Wiley comes to 24 Kitchen Street for a uniquely intimate show. Having made Liverpool his home, and releasing another master class in Grime, his latest album, Godfather, Wiley shows no signs of slowing down. So, what are you waiting for? Get your tickets now!

All We Are, North Shore Troubadour – 3rd March

After discovering the Part Street sessions featuring this much loved 3-piece, which we featured in our Must Heat Mersey Music this March, we couldn’t ignore their upcoming headline show at the North Shore Troubadour. The band but on one hell of a live show that is as innovative ally creative as it is exciting. Tickets available here.

FIESTA BOMBARDA ft. Gilles Peterson, Constellations – 2nd March 

Having recently run down our favourite gigs of all time at the recently silenced Magnet we included BBC Radio 1 DJ Giles Peterson. Now, back to continue with what he started, local hero, FIESTA BOMBARDA, bring him back for another of their famous, unrivalled carnivals. Belle & Sebastian, The Philharmonic Hall – 19th March

Belle & Sebastian were the big reveal for Sound City 2015, ending the festivals run in the city before it moved to the docklands. 2018 sees them both return to the city, not together, although it feels quite appropriate, so we thought we would reminisce in the spectacular setting of The Philharmonic Hall.  The band is trailblazer of a Folk, Indie, Electronic fusion sound. Paloma Faith support by XamVolo, Echo Arena -20th March

This is a real doozie, and one that the local music scene should be very proud of. Not only do you get to see the fabulously flamboyant Paloma Faith play at the cities largest music venue, but she is supported by one of our own, the mad professor of Merseyside, XamVolo, as he truly hits the next level of his career on his very first arena tour. Fickle Friends, O2 Academy – 21st March

Here at The Guide Liverpool we like to keep you on the cutting edge of the UK music scene and that is why this Indie-Pop four piece make the list this month. The songs are catchy as hell, the live show is chocked full of energy and the band itself is one of the hottest properties in the UK right now. The Fratellis, Olympia – 22nd March 

Read this one quickly, because tickets may have gone by the time you’re finished. After a sickeningly sweaty affair in the intimate O2 Academy last year, The Fratellis return to the city in the much larger, recently re-established Liverpool Olympia. Chanting along to Indie classics such as Chelsea Dagger, the Academy was booming last year, and the Olympia is set to do the same. Tickets available here via Skiddle.

Esme Birdie – Today It Rains Album Launch, Studio 2 – 22nd March

We recently featured this little birdie on our Must Hear Mersey Music guide and she continues giving us plenty to tell you about with the launch of her debut album, Today It Rains. Esme is sure to be flying the nest in the next year or so as you won’t be able to keep her Folky charm down, so get on board early before this one takes flight. Get your tickets booked here.

Secret Psychedelic Party, 8-10 Glegg Street – 23rd March

After the success of the first Secret Psychedelic Party, it’s back, and weirder than ever. On Friday 23rd March the night will be returning to the carpet factory basement for another super trippy experience in a derelict, hidden spot on Glegg Street, recreating an atmosphere similar to the illegal underground parties of the 90’s. Tickets available here.

Yes, The Philharmonic Hall – 23rd March 

This March is your chance to see living legends, in the flesh, in our own city. Yes are one of the founders, and pioneers, of Prog Rock back in the late 60s. This year marks the bands 50th anniversary and they celebrate, as any true Rock band does, with a tour. Head to our own musical pioneer, The Philharmonic Hall, to be treated to this classic this Spring. Tickets available here.

Gary Numan, O2 Academy – 24th March 

Now for another pioneer of their own genre, Mr. Gary Numan. On 24th March, Numan comes to the intimate surroundings of the O2 Academy to bring you his iconic, Synth-Pop sound. If only for his most famous hit, Cars, this is one not to miss, however, there are new tunes a plenty and a light show to blow your mind. Deaf School, The Arts Club – 28th/29th March

And now for one of our very own Pioneers. We’ve had Grime, Prog Rock and Synth-Pop from around the UK, but now we’re treat to an evening with local Alt Rock favourite, Deaf School. Still going strong, over 40 years on, this Liverpool Arts College outfit often come back around to remind us how great they are and the impact they had on the UK music scene. Liverpool Disco Festival 4, Camp and Furnace – 31st March

Festival season comes early with the fourth Liverpool Disco Festival. Headlined by the Disco/Soul powerhouse that is Jocelyn Brown, the first festival of year is a big one that takes over Camp and Furnace, transporting you to a world where the only thing that matters is dancing.
