Midcentury Markets is set to return to Liverpool this weekend, selling all sorts of second-hand homewares, furniture and collectables

The market will be open until 4pm inside Penny Lane church, with an array of items on offer, many of which date from the 1940’s to the 1970’s.

Tickets start at just £3, and visitors can also pay an extra £2 for priority entry, which grants them access to the market from 10:30am, with general admission tickets sold in hour by hour slots to stagger visitor numbers.

First opening at Penny Lane Church in November 2023, Midcentury Markets have since branched out, taking the event to cities such as Nottingham, Birmingham and Cambridge.

The market attempts to champion vintage and pre-loved treasures, whilst aiming to reduce the demand for modern, mass-produced homewares.

According to the Midcentury Markets website, over 22 million pieces of furniture end up in landfill each year, meaning the choice to shop vintage is not only stylish, but sustainable too.

Midcentury Markets said:

“Midcentury Markets is a haven for furniture lovers, home décor enthusiasts and vintage collectors, focusing on interior trends and styles that span from the 1940s to the 1970s.

“Our exciting event features an impressive lineup of specialist traders from all over the UK, showing their carefully selected wares amidst a backdrop of nostalgic music and refreshments.

“Explore a treasure trove of authentic mid-century pieces, meticulously curated, including items from brands such as Hornsea, G-Plan, Ercol, Knoll and Eames.

“Whether you’re a seasoned collector, a design enthusiast or simply looking for unique home décor, Midcentury Markets offers something for everyone.

“It’s an opportunity to connect with fellow vintage lovers, discover timeless pieces and celebrate the enduring appeal of mid-century design.

“Join us for a day of nostalgia, discovery and timeless style at Midcentury Markets. We look forward to seeing you there!”

Midcentury home items have seen a staggering increase in popularity over the past few years, with styles that echo the 1950’s and 60’s becoming increasingly present in people’s homes.
