AD: Where to go this Halloween in Liverpool with Merseyrail

Things are about to get spooky across city region with lots of Autumn fun events to check out with Merseyrail.


Autumn leaves, woolly hats and pumpkin spice everything can mean only one thing, Autumn has officially arrived in Liverpool. With it comes a whole load of spooky fun as Halloween and October half term merge into a week long celebration of all things macabre.

Autumn is a great time to ditch the car and travel by train. With so many events on offer, right across the Liverpool City Region, you can save on parking, access convenient, local train stations and arrive in comfort with Merseyrail.

Here’s 7 unmissable Halloween events to check out with Merseyrail this Autumn…

1 – The Scare Project, Camp & Furnace

The Scare Project UK brings two Halloween events to Liverpool this October. The first, The Candy Cave is a family friendly timed-session event where kids can get fully immersed in spooky fun. Music, craft, fancy dress you name it. The second is called The Asylum. This horror maze is enough to leave you with nightmares long after your visit. More info here.

2 – Otterspook Monsters Ball, Otterspool

Otterspool Adventure Centre is hosting a week long programme of spooky events this October half term, all coming together in a Monsters Ball with Maggie From Cbeebies on Saturday 26th October. Families can do the Transylvanian Twist while making toffee apples, slippery slime and taking on the Halloween Scavenger hunt too. More info here.

3 – The Floating Cinema, Royal Albert Dock Liverpool

The hugely successful floating cinema returns to the dock this Halloween in Liverpool with a whole host of family and horror films titles on offer. Screenings run from 24th October until 1st November, you can see the likes of Caspar, Hocus Pocus and Beetlejuice. After dark adults can enjoy Blair Witch Project, Psycho, Paranormal Activity and more. Tickets and more info here.

4 – Keith Haring, Tate Liverpool

Time is running out to see the brilliant Keith Haring exhibition at Tate Liverpool. Get an insight into the 1980’s NYC sub culture scene, as art, music, politics, lifestyle and activism all come together in this immersive, thought-provoking exhibition. 5 – Spooky Welly Walk, Sefton Park

Everyone’s favourite family Halloween event returns to Sefton Park this Halloween. The Roy Castle Lung Cancer Charity Spooky Welly Walk takes place on Saturday 19th October and places are filling up fast! Get your best Halloween costume on, get your face painted and don your wellies to walk the trail and have loads of ghoulishly good fun. More info here.

6 – Liverpool ONE Spooktacular

Liverpool ONE loves a good Halloween party and they’re certainly not holding back this October half term. From 14th October until 3rd November, keep your eyes peeled for lots of free, in-store entertainment at the likes of LEGO, Disney, The Entertainer and more. There’s also a Halloween Street Party on 31st October from 4pm until 7pm. More info here.

7 – Bidston Ghost & Witches Walk

Why not do something different during Halloween in Liverpool and check out Bidston’s spooky Hidden History?
