Tap & Go has arrived, making travelling in Liverpool City Region, across the Merseyrail network, even easier 😃

Using a MetroCard, you tap in and tap out at stations, removing the need for pre-paid tickets. Based on your taps, the best value fare is automatically charged to the credit or debit card linked to your Tap & Go account. This means faster, easier journeys with no need to queue. 🚆

Jay met Mayor Steve Rotheram at Central Station to find out more about this game-changing initiative that you can sign up for and use right now. 🤩

Dramatic scenes from Woolton this evening as a large fire engulfs Woolton Hall.

Woolton Hall was built in 1704 and has since served various purposes including a school and an army hospital during WW1.

It’s been vacant since 2006 and sits just next to St. Julie’s High School.

Watch as we visit Olivia’s Tree in Dovecot to meet Merseyside Police, people from the local area and those impacted by a spate of shootings in 2022 to find out what has been done since to tackle gun violence across the city.

Three years on from shootings that ‘rocked’ Liverpool, Merseyside Police say they are working closer than ever with local communities.

Merseyside Police was one of the first forces in the country to receive Home Office funding for a Clear, Hold, Build initiative – known locally as Evolve – following the deaths of Olivia Pratt-Korbel, nine, 28-year-old environmental health worker Ashley Dale and Sam Rimmer, 22, in August 2022.

Three years on from its launch, the force says the scheme – now rolled out across four areas – has led to a 300% increase in community intelligence.

Detective Chief Superintendent Graeme Robson said the three murders “rocked” the area, but police had seen a “strong and positive response”.
