Wine lovers! This is for you, Liverpool is about to host its first ever global wine festival! 🍷

The Northern Wine Festival is being organised by local lad Johnathan from Bacchus School of Wine and is being held at the Metropolitan Cathedral’s Crypt Hall this March.

There will be more than 100 different wines to choose from producers around the world including the familiar with wines including France, Italy and California to new discoveries from Mexico, China and Uruguay and a lot more!

Enjoy opportunities to meet producers and experts, dabble in fun blind wine tasting tables, pair delicious food from some of Liverpool’s best-loved Indies. There will even be wine tasting masterclasses hosted by special guests AND live entertainment!

The event will cost £35 for a standard ticket per person, which will give them a wine card for their first 12 wines along with a branded tote bag, a branded tasting glass and a booklet giving them a full guide to what’s there.

The Northern Wine Festival takes place on Saturday 7 March inside The Crypt at Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral. Choose from two sessions and you can book tickets now! 🎟️

Merseyside Police operation EVOLVE delivers major crime reduction across Everton and Vauxhall 🚨

A year after the launch of a major multi-agency operation to tackle serious and organised crime, Everton and Vauxhall are seeing significant and measurable improvements.

EVOLVE Everton-Vauxhall, the fourth Clear, Hold, Build initiative rolled out across Merseyside, was launched last January after the areas were identified as needing a long-term, partnership-led approach to reducing crime and improving community safety.

The Home Office-backed Clear, Hold, Build model focuses on disrupting criminal activity, stabilising neighbourhoods and supporting communities to build resilience for the future, working closely with residents, councils and local organisations. 🚔

Since EVOLVE was introduced, Merseyside Police and partners have recorded:

• 117 arrests
• 31 weapons seized
• 1.9kg of Class A drugs, 22kg of Class B drugs and 85kg of Class C drugs recovered
• 120 warrants executed
• 630 stop searches carried out
• 42 safeguarding referrals made
• 528 intelligence submissions, a 28% increase on the previous year
• Just under £150,000 of cash and assets seized

Sefton Park’s Palm House is marking two big anniversaries this year, launching an exciting programme of events to celebrate! 🌴🎉

This year marks 130 years since the historic Liverpool landmark first opened its doors back in 1896, and 25 years since it reopened in 2001, following a period of dereliction since the 1980s.

To celebrate this huge milestone in the story of the Palm House, a new supporters scheme has been launched along with a brilliant 2026 event lineup and some other exciting new additions too!
