Veterans For Veterans have just completed their incredible coast to coast charity run, which started in Hull and finished right here in Liverpool! 🏃

The mighty endurance challenge aims to raise funds, spark conversations and ultimately raise awareness around the mental health struggles many veterans experience.

We caught up with Simon from Veterans For Veterans to hear all about it.

Remembering Bebe King on World Bee Day 🐝💛

Local businesses and communities in Southport have come together to wear yellow, be kind & remember Bebe today.

If you take a short walk through Southport, you’ll see beautifully decorated bee-themed shop windows, yellow-themed specials on the menu and much much more throughout the area.

There is even a 5K run taking place on Ainsdale beach in memory of Bebe at 7pm this evening, raising money for the incredible work that @bebeshiveuk does.

House of Memories is an incredible programme set up to support those living with dementia right here in Liverpool.

It’s ran by teams at National Museums Liverpool and offers training, access to resources, and museum-based activities to enable carers to provide person-centred care for people living with dementia.

Within the award-winning initiative, things like Memory Strolls, Memory Suitcases and On The Road museums offer memorable experiences, using the power of objects, memories and storytelling to help people living with dementia, along with their carers, families and support workers.

We met some of the people involved in the revolutionary programme and visited the Museum of Liverpool where some of the activities were taking place.

This week is Dementia Action Week, so the perfect time to hear more about this extraordinary Liverpool project. ...

Woolton Picture House has officially been saved, ensuring a prosperous future for the historic site! 🤩🎬

But, there’s a TWIST in this story. 👀

After months of tireless fundraising and a race against time, the campaign has officially surpassed its £450,000 target and raised a total of £532,884 from public donations since October!

As they were celebrating their success, an extraordinary, anonymous donation arrived just as the clock was about to run out.

The mystery benefactor has stepped in to purchase Woolton Picture House outright and has given the building to Woolton Cinema CIC on a 100-year lease at a “peppercorn rent” arrangement that will run until the cinema’s 200th anniversary!

The unprecedented intervention ensures the long-term future of the venue as a community asset, while allowing all funds raised by the public to be released in full for the building’s refurbishment.

What began as a determined local effort to save Liverpool’s oldest surviving cinema has now become a landmark moment of community achievement!
