Liverpool’s Royal Court bought the building earlier this year and are now set to open Courtyard Bar & Kitchen, a drinking and dining space that will be open seven days a week.
With food being served from midday until 10.30pm it will be a great place to go for lunch, dinner or a late bite after a show.
The opening will take place on Friday 29 September and bookings will be taken from then on.
The building is on the site of the old Penny Farthing pub and it has been completely renovated from top to bottom. The top floor dining area is fitted with floor to ceiling glass windows giving expansive views of St George’s Hall, St John’s Gardens and Lime Street.
The downstairs bar is equipped with local craft ales on tap and a wide range of international bottled beers. There is a brand new drinks terrace and garden in the old yard which provides a little oasis of greenery in the centre of town.
There will be a press and guest launch at 6pm on Friday with the general public welcome in from 8pm.
Kevin Fearon, Executive Producer of Liverpool’s Royal Court, has headed up the redevelopment: “The building is looking great now and we can’t wait to welcome people in. We have been hunting around for the very best staff and we already know how good Head Chef Simon Collard is so we are very confident that it will soon be a real highlight of the bar and restaurant scene in Liverpool.”
The interior design was drawn up by Martin Mark, winners of BBC’s Great Interior Design Challenge, and involved a number of theatre staff including the set building team. Some of the tables were made out of pieces of past stage show sets.
Courtyard Bar & Kitchen is a great place to eat and drink with friends in the heart of Liverpool.
