Discover new venues in Sefton for unforgettable Summer experiences
2 years ago
With summer finally arriving on Merseyside, it’s time to get out and about and explore the area’s newest bars, cafes and restaurants.
Jump on the train to Crosby, Formby or Southport and try out this selection of new Sefton venues. And if you’re a local, we’re jealous as you can enjoy them all the time.
Liverpool Road Social, Crosby
A former Ford garage on Liverpool Road has been converted into one of the most stylish new venues in Sefton.
Brought to you by some of the team that ran the successful Mustard and Co in Crosby, this bar and restaurant opened in March.
Liverpool Road Social serves breakfast, an all-day menu, Sunday roasts and an excellent drinks selection, including local craft beers.
You can also watch the world go by on the terrace. Perfect for the summer.

Becca’s Bites and Bar, Thornton
Hidden at the back of Chaps Barbers in Moor Lane, Becca’s is a cosy café by day and bar by night.
You can enjoy everything from breakfast to a varied lunch menu, then in the evening sample a drink from the bar.
There is a lovely outdoor area that’s opened just in time for summer and a quiz night on Thursdays from 7pm – but be sure to book the quiz as it’s popular.

Homebrew Tap, Crosby
The newest addition to the family of Homebrew Taps opened in Crosby’s Endbutt Lane this month.
Open Tuesday-Sunday, you will be able to enjoy the cosy surroundings and good beer made famous in Homebrew Tap’s Wirral venues.
Beer drinkers can sample a mixture of cask, keg and bottles and there is also a good wine and cocktail menu.

No.6 Formby
Situated conveniently across the road from Freshfield Station if you haven’t already discovered No.6 what are you waiting for?
This cosy, family run café serves a fabulous breakfast menu and some of the best toasties you will try. We can definitely recommend the hummus, tomato and avocado on sour dough.
Grab an outside table after a walk on the beach and do some serious people watching in Victoria Road. You might even spot one of the local footballers driving by.
Beware, the cafe closes early afternoon, so get there early to make sure you don’t miss out.
Casablanca Bar and Lounge, Lord Street, Southport
This stylish bar and restaurant opened in the old Casa Italia in sunny Southport in April and is already forging a great reputation.
With karaoke, DJs and live music in addition to a menu serving from breakfast, you can enjoy this gorgeous venue all day into the evening.
There is also a pavement café so you can soak up the summer weather while you enjoy a morning coffee or afternoon cocktail.
See the Casablanca’s Facebook for future events and the menu.
