Earn your stripes and get snap happy with a day out at Knowsley Safari this summer

LEGO and Tigers and selfies oh my! You’re invited to get really wild this summer as 80 brand new creatures make Knowsley Safari their home.

Summer days are filled with amazing animals and fascinating facts at Knowsley Safari. Home of the UK’s longest safari drive, there’s lots more on offer when you step out of the car.

Included in your admission price, Knowsley’s Foot Safari is where adventure calls. Take to the path and discover meerkats, bush dogs, giraffes, sea lions, birds of prey, wolves and two very special, very stripy sisters! There’s animals talks and displays every day where you can find out lots of interesting facts about your favourite creature.

Alongside the vast array of exotic and native animals on offer, Knowsley Safari offers loads of fresh air fun. Play parks, sandpits, face painting, fair ground rides and animal displays make for a full day out and there’s plenty of tasty snacks and healthy, hearty meals on offer too.

Here’s 9 reasons why a trip to Knowsley Safari should be at the top of your summer holiday to-do list

1 – Tiger Trail

Amur tiger sisters Sinda and Bira have just celebrated their first year since moving into a stunning 10,000 sqm habitat at Knowsley Safari with a spectacular Tiger Parade, and you can explore it too. The Tiger Trail is a foot safari for everyone to enjoy. Taking inspiration from its native Russian roots, this winding path provides huge viewing platforms, selfie spots and educational information about these incredible creatures. It’s estimated there’s only 500 left in the world and Knowsley Safari is working hard with conservationists to protect the ones that are left. Listen to a tiger talk, snap a photo and see these beautiful animals up close.More information on the Tiger Trail here.

2 – Lego Brick Safari

Brand new for summer 2019, Knowsley Safari will play host to 80 new animals made entirely from LEGO! Bring your little builders and animal lovers to the foot safari and see how many you can spot. Made from more than 1 million LEGO bricks, see if you can spot Earl Grey the Elephant, Tenzin the Bengal Tiger, panda cubs, a meerkat family and many more. The Ultimate Brick Safari opens on 20th July, find out more here.

3 – Sea Lion Show

If there’s one species that likes to make themselves heard at Knowsley Safari, it’s got to be the Sea Lions. Hailing all the way from California, Arthur, Biffo, Louis and Roger love to make the crowds giggle during the displays and splash about in their outdoor pool, they even like to sunbathe. Make sure you see their daily displays and learn all sorts of amazing facts. More info here.

4 – Giraffes

Perhaps one of the most impressive animals at Knowsley Safari, are the Giraffes. You can get up to their level on the raised viewing platform and see them eat while learning fascinating facts at one of the daily animal talks. Why do giraffes have such long necks? Find out here.

5 – Flight of the Talons

Also included in your ticket price is a breath-taking Bird of Prey display called Flight of the Talons. You can watch magnificent birds such as eagles, hawks, falcons and even vultures as they swoop just above your head. Get your seat at the Bird Of Prey centre ahead of the daily displays. More info here.

6 – Meerkats

Who doesn’t love the adorable Meerkat family at Knowsley Safari? Always on the look out, the mob of cheeky Meerkats can be seen digging, sunbathing, playing and feeding as park rangers give interesting and educational talks about their habitat and social interaction. Find them on the foot safari. More info here.

7 – Bush Dogs

We’re not sure we can take much more cuteness! Knowlsey Safari is also home to a family of Bush Dogs who hail from South America. Stop in for one of the daily animal talks about this shy animal and see how many you can spot! More info here.

8 – Wolves

If you’ve ever read Little Red Riding Hood to your kids, they’ll likely associate the wolf with being a big bad villain, but Knowsley Safari wants to change all that. Head down to the woods to learn all about the Iberian Wolves and listen as the safari team debunk the old fairy tale myths about these amazing animals. More here.

9 – The Baboon Bus

Did you know you don’t need a car to enjoy Knowsley Safari? Book your ticket for the Baboon Bus and sit back while someone else does the driving this summer. Find out more here.
