Everton is to host trials at Goodison Park next month as part of plans to expand its girls’ Academy, with players from across the region invited to showcase their skills.

Players aged between 14 and 18 can apply, with the trials set to take place on Saturday 9 and Saturday 16 May.

The trial programme will look to identify players with the potential to become part of Everton’s Professional Game Academy from next season and take their first step on a potential pathway to the Everton Women senior team.

Everton has a proud history of developing players who have progressed not only through youth and professional football, but also gone on to represent England. Examples include Lionesses Izzy Christiansen, Grace Clinton, Toni Duggan, Alex Greenwood and Nikita Parris, while current Blues captain and the Club’s longest-serving player, Megan Finnigan, is also a Blues Academy graduate.

Goodison Park became the permanent home of Everton Women last season, following the Men’s team’s move to Hill Dickinson Stadium. It remains the only dedicated women’s football stadium in the country and a powerful symbol of the Club’s ambition for the women’s game.

Everton Technical Director Nick Cox said:

“This city has a proud football heritage and Everton has a long-standing reputation for developing elite-level players. These trials are part of our efforts to further increase opportunities in the Women’s game and ensure that proud tradition continues.

“Our focus is on strengthening our player pathway – broadening access at younger ages, enhancing development opportunities within the Academy, and creating a clearer route through to senior football. We want talented young players to see Everton as a place where they can grow, be challenged and fulfil their potential.”

Each trial will be led by qualified Everton coaches and will run for approximately two hours. Trials on Saturday 9 May will run between 1pm and 6pm BST.

The trials on Saturday 16 May will follow immediately after Everton Women’s final fixture of the 2025/26 season against Leicester City, with trials to run between 4pm and 8pm BST. A bespoke trial for goalkeepers only will be held at Everton’s training ground, Finch Farm, on Monday 11 May.

All applications will be assessed by Everton coaches, with invited participants to be contacted directly in the week commencing 4 May. Due to anticipated demand, not all applicants will be offered a trial.
