Three talented young artists’ designs were plucked from over 180 entries received, after the council ran a competition for schoolchildren aged between 4 and 18. The judges were wowed by the high standard of entries, but the three selected stood out for their bold, bright use of colour and creative flair.
Their artwork will now adorn the official greeting cards for the Acting Mayor, Councillor Wendy Simon; the Lord Mayor, Councillor Anna Rothery and the Chief Executive Tony Reeves.

“We are lucky to be blessed with so many creative young people in Liverpool – and our competition has shown just how incredibly talented they are. Our judges were blown away by all the designs which made their job really tough! A huge thank you and well done to everyone who entered, and to all the schools that supported the competition too.
“But the biggest congratulations go to our three deserving winners, Charlie, Ellana and Alexandra. Their designs are fantastic and they should be really proud of their achievements. Their cards are sure to bring festive cheer as they land in inboxes and doormats across the world, including the Mayors of our sister cities.”
