We’ve rounded up more than 25 local events and activities to keep the kids entertained this October Half Term in Liverpool.
The kids are ready for a week of freedom and we’ve lined up loads of Halloween fun with something for all ages. Disco’s, fancy dress, face painting, scare attractions, fun on the farm, really wild animals, street parties, pantos and even Barbie is in town! 1 – The Candy Cavern, Camp & Furnace
From 26th October – 3rd November, Camp & Furnace is hosting The Candy Cavern. A fun, immersive Halloween event for youngsters with all kind of hands on activities. All the details and booking info here.
2 – River of Light
River of Light returns with even more bang this Autumn. From 1st – 9th November 2019 all the family can enjoy fireworks on the waterfront, light installations and more. Head this way for further information.
3 – Knowsley Safari
Autumn has arrived at Knowsley Safari and the animals are loving it! There’s a great half term offer on too with discounted kids prices on offer from 26th October until 3rd November. Rain or shine, take a walk on the wild side this Half term in Liverpool. Info here.
4 – Liverpool ONE Spooktacular
The Liverpool ONE Spooktacular brings fun for all ages to the city centre estate from 14th – 31st October. There’s kids eat free deals, in-store Halloween activities, a free Radio City Street Party and a huge big spider. More info here.
5 – Otterspook Adventure
Otterspool Adventure Centre is hosting a week long programme of spooky events this October half term, all coming together in a Monsters Ball with Maggie From Cbeebies on Saturday 26th October. All the info here.
6 – Southport Halloween Festival
You’re invited to wander through the fully immersive, gothic Victorian street that are taking over Town Hall Gardens in Southport this half term. Be brave as you pass the picket fences and step up the gothic, pumpkin covered steps for a trick or treat. More info here.
7 – Marvel Universe Live! M&S Bank Arena
The M&S Bank Arena plays host to all your favourite Marvel superheroes this half term in Liverpool. Marvel Universe Live! comes to the city on 31st October – 3rd November with an action packed, explosive live show. Tickets here.
8 – Sleeping Beauty, St Helens Theatre Royal
Who said panto was a christmas only treat? Head to St Helens Theatre Royal from 19th – 29th October to catch Sleeping Beauty in all its musical, comedy and magical glory! A fab treat for kids of all ages. Tickets here.
9 – Halloween Fest, Martin Mere
This October half term, Martin Mere invites you to take on the pumpkin hunt, get crafty with a bit of pumpkin carving and get some broomstick flight training in too! There’s also a spooky canoe ride, fancy dress competition and more. Info here.
10 – Floating Pop Up Cinema, Royal Albert Dock
Liverpool’s first floating cinema will be returning to the Dock with a series of spooky screenings for Halloween, taking place from 24th October-1st November. Families can book their tickets for Caspar, Hocus Pocus and more. Head this way for full listings.
11 – Parentfolk, Weekend Arrgghh, Claremont Farm
The Halloween ‘Weekend-AGHHH at Claremont Farm is an afternoon family social session filled with spooky or sparkly face art, Halloween art workshops by Square Pegs, Slime workshops and more. Fun starts on 26th October. More info here.
12 – Wizard of Oz Ballet, Epstein Theatre
A classic tale gets a ballet make over at the Epstein this half term in Liverpool. Ballet Theatre UK brings Dorothy, Toto, Scarecrow, Tinman and Lion to life in a whole new, exciting way. Treat the kids to Monday night at the theatre. Tickets and info here.
13 – Farmer Teds Halloweek!
Every day during Farmer Ted’s Halloweek Festival, your little monsters can come dressed as their favourite Halloween character and enter in our Halloweek Fancy Dress Competition! Plus the face painting on site is done by the amazing artists who make up the very scary adult attraction! See what’s happening here.
14 – Hollistic Harmonies Halloween Social, Constellations
Constellations is hosting the Holistic Harmonies Halloween Family Special on Sunday 27th October from 10am til 1:30pm. Families can enjoy yoga, busting moves at the disco, face painting, crafts and more. Booking here.
15 – Halloween Monster Ball, Palm House
Come Witches and Ghouls, come one and all to the perfectly frightful Monster’s Ball. This half-term the Palm House will host a spooktacular party with a film showing each afternoon from the 27th-30th October. There’s also crafts, games, dancing and prizes for fancy dress. Info here.
16 – James Arthur, Liverpool Empire
If your kids are a little past tricks but still up for treats, why not book your tickets to see James Arthur live at the Liverpool Empire. The former X Factor star brings his Up Close and Personal tour to Liverpool on Monday 28th October. Info here.
17 – Barbie Fashion Pop Up Shop
If your kids are huge Barbie fans, they’re going to love this news. A Barbie Fashion Pop Up Store is heading to Liverpool ONE this half term in Liverpool. From 11th October, the Barbie pop up shop will be selling limited edition merchandise, Barbie dolls and of course a chance to snap a pic in the life size Barbie doll box! More info here.
18 – Haunted Halloween, Acorn Venture Farm
There’s fun on the farm this October half term in Liverpool. Acorn Venture Farm in Kirby is hosting its annual Haunted Halloween bash on Thursday 31st October. You can expect spooky fancy dress competition, haunted house, Halloween face painting, spooky selfies, feed the ghost, apples and donuts on a string and loads more. Info here.
19 – CETUS, Mann Island
As part of a wider art campaign, Mann Island will host a light and visual display this October Half Term in Liverpool. Constellations aims to bring the poetry of the sky to the Liverpool City Region with lots of different displays for all to enjoy, after dark. CETUS will be at Mann Island from 1st – 9th November. 20 – Halloween Family Raceday, Aintree Racecourse
There’s 7 races on the card on Sunday 27th October at Aintree Racecourse – but more importantly, loads of Halloween fun for the kids. Expect a Ghost Train, a Mystery House and for those feeling brave enough, a Halloween Freak Show on the stage in the Red Rum Garden. There’s also a dog show! Find out more here.
21 – Spooky Roots, Storybarn Calderstones Park
The Storybarn at Calderstones Park is hosting some interactive story-time events throughout Half Term in Liverpool. From 26th October you can learn all about the spooky local folklore! Dressing up is encouraged. More info here.
22 – Spooky Halloween Party Spaceworld
If the Autumn weather falls foul, fear not. Spaceworld, Prescot is holding an indoor, soft-play Halloween party on 31st October from 5pm. Lots of fun, games, prizes and food and drink for everyone. More info here.
23 – Night at the Museum, Birkenhead
Wirral Transport Museum is set to undergo a magical transformation on 1st November. Night at The Museum, The Twilight Run is an event for all the family and features late night tram rides, glow stick and all the mesmerising light displays. More info here.
24 – Disco Night, Woolton Youth Centre
Woolton Youth Centre is holding a disco night from 7:30pm on Wednesday 30th October. With mocktails and all the big beats, this is a great alternative to trick of treating for older kids. More info here.
25 – Arriva Scouse 5k
The Arriva Scouse 5k returns to the city streets on Sunday 27th October for a family friendly 5km fun run. It’s just £15 for under 13’s to take part and make some lasting memories. All the info here.
