Music legend and global LGBTQ+ icon Holly Johnson has announced three extra dates for his Welcome To The Pleasuredome 40th Anniversary Tour due to phenomenal demand.
The highly anticipated Holly Johnson tour will now include new shows in Portsmouth, Southend, and Sheffield as Johnson celebrates four decades since the release of Welcome to the Pleasuredome, the iconic debut album by Frankie Goes to Hollywood.
Following his critically acclaimed performances in 2023, Holly Johnson returns to the stage with a fresh production packed with the timeless hits that cemented Frankie Goes to Hollywood as one of the most influential bands of the 1980s.
Fans can look forward to hearing classic anthems such as the chart-topping “Relax,” the politically charged “Two Tribes,” and the iconic ballad “The Power of Love.”
Holly Johnson said:
“I can’t believe it’s been 40 years since Welcome to The Pleasuredome first exploded onto the scene. It’s been an incredible journey. I’m thrilled to be celebrating this milestone with a special tour for the fans and hopefully a 40th anniversary box set. Watch this space…”
In addition to the tour, Holly Johnson recently launched a brand-new exhibition, The Holly Johnson Story, at the Museum of Liverpool.
Running until Sunday 27 July 2025, this landmark exhibit delves into the life and career of the Liverpool-born star, from his roots in the city to international fame.
The exhibition will feature costumes, memorabilia, personal stories of those impacted by HIV, and Holly’s own artwork, offering a comprehensive look at his triumphs and struggles as a groundbreaking LGBTQ+ icon. For more information, visit the Museum of Liverpool’s website.
Tickets for the extra dates on the Welcome To The Pleasuredome 40th Anniversary Tour will be available from Friday 4th October at 9am.
