How to spend the perfect sunday in Liverpool
2 years ago
Sunday may be a day of rest, but what is the point in wasting a day in the house doing absolutely nothing when there’s so much to do in Liverpool!
Whether it be out to clear your head from the night before or having a “fresh Sunday one” – we have some great inspiration to make sure your Sunday’s in Liverpool are never short of stuff to do.
Go for a walk
Crosby Beach
Take a trip to Crosby beach which is home to Another Place, better known as, ‘The Iron Men’. British Sculptor, Antony Gormley OBE’s striking Art installation features 100 cast iron men, looking out to sea.
Quite possibly Crosby’s most famous residents, these fascinating figures are the constant companions of the pooches, joggers, and leisurely strollers, who visit daily.
The Georgian Quarter
Take a step back in time and explore these historic streets. Liverpool’s Georgian Quarter is a place to celebrate history, the arts, and dine in some of the cities most indulgent independent restaurants.
It’s main thoroughfare, Hope Street, connects the two Liverpool Cathedrals. Go for a walk and take in the the beauty of this iconic area of the city.
Parks
Liverpool is home to some absolutely stunning parks, such as the famous Sefton Park and the iconic Stanley Park that connects both of our cities football stadiums. Surround yourself with the beautiful greenery for a breath of fresh air on your Sunday stroll.
Waterfront
Clear your head with a brisk walk down Liverpool’s waterfront, starting at the Pier Head in the shadow of The Three Graces, you can take a trip all the way down to Otterspool Promenade, with great views of the River Mersey along the way.
Moel Famau
Or you could do what every other Scouser does… jump in the car and go for a “fresh one up Moel Famau”!
Moel Famau is the highest hill in the Clwydian Range and the highest point of the county of Flintshire in Wales. It lies on the boundary between Denbighshire and Flintshire. The hill, which also gives its name to the Moel Famau country park, has been classed as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty since 1985.
Cinema
Liverpool is home to some fantastic cinemas, catch the latest blockbuster in IMAX 3D at the ODEON in Liverpool ONE, recline in style and take in an independent movie at FACT, or get comfy with a burger, fries, and a bevvy at The (other) Everyman cinema – their couches and seat service is a feature that we never knew we needed until we got it!
