Last minute Christmas shopping – the Liverpool gifts and experiences you can sorted right now!
Not quite managed to get all your Christmas pressie shopping done yet?
We’re not judging, in fact it could be a good thing, because there are loads of places where you can get fantastic original gifts and help support local businesses too.
So, if you’re up for a festive win-win this year, here’s 11 places where you can shop local this Christmas at these Liverpool gift stores …
Liverpool’s packed with amazing creatives and lots of them are under one roof at Merseyside on Paradise Street, at the end of Hanover Street. There’s retail space where you can buy anything from ceramics and artwork to handmade beauty products, and because Merseymade has studios you can often meet the makers too – plus there’s a café with fabulous homemade cakes. Open from 8.30am to make an early start.
The Art Quarter Liverpool
Inside Metquarter, you’ll find a lovely Christmassy selection of arty gifts all made by a super-talented co-operative of local creatives including lots with a Liverpool or Wirral theme so you can give them an extra personalised touch. You’ll find fabulous artworks by textile collage artist Sandra Hepworth and city landmark prints by Freida McKitrick among others and a great choice of original design Christmas cards.
Liverpool Gift Gallery
If you’re out West Derby way there’s no need to head into town to find a fantastic range of products from local independent artists, designers and makers. Liverpool Gift Gallery on Mill Lane has Liverpool and non-Liverpool gifts, Beatles and footy ones, and even a few specific West Derby ones so you can go hyper-local. They specialise in original artworks and they offer a framing service.
Roxy Ball Room Vouchers
Big on fun all year round, Roxy Ball Room is the perfect combination of gaming and fabulous food & drink – and gift vouchers are redeemable against them all. Winner!
Available from £20 they make the ideal no-fuss present for a brother or sister, or even as a classy stocking filler for those you’d typically buy a bundle for.
Across their two sites in Liverpool, Roxy Ball Room boasts a 9-hole mini golf course*, shuffleboards, ping pong, beer pong, pool, retro arcade games and full-sized bowling lanes* – what more could someone ask?
National Museums Liverpool stores
Combine a trip to one of the city’s museums and galleries with getting your shopping sorted. Museum of Liverpool, World Museum, the Walker and Maritime Museum all have really well-stocked shops where you can pick up Liverpool prints and cards, gifts (including Superlambananas and a whole flock of Liver Birds) and some linked to exhibitions like the John Moores Painting Prize and Linda McCartney Retrospective.
Tate Liverpool shop
Art fans will really love to get a gift on Christmas morning from Tate Liverpool at the Albert Dock – on the ground floor of the gallery, they’ve got locally made, sustainable products including books for adults and kids, prints, jewellery, tote bags, and homeware. Anyone into design should check out the exclusive Colours of Liverpool range of homeware made in collaboration with local design studio, Dorothy.
Knowsley Safari experiences
You can buy animal experience vouchers, memberships, adoption packs and VIP tours that will guarantee your present is received to roar-some applause come Christmas Day morning.
Still down at the Albert Dock, and just along the all lit up Colonnades from the Tate, art and design shop The Nest is an absolute little gem of a place for buying locally-made exclusive art, photography, ceramics, fashion accessories, tote bags, jewellery, cute little stocking fillers and one-off gifts that’ll definitely impress whoever’s lucky enough to be on the receiving end of them this Christmas Day.
Liverpool Gift Company
Liverpool’s got so many beautiful landmarks and world-famous icons that it’s only right there’s a gift shop dedicated to all things Scouse. Liverpool Gift Company on Allerton Road has glassware and jewellery, Liverpool Christmas baubles, as well as things like Superlambanana tea towels, mugs, keyrings and Liver Bird bracelets which would make ideal Secret Santa pressies. There’s plenty of choice for footy or Beatles fans too.
If you’re buying for someone who’s quite design-conscious then you can’t go wrong with a trip to one of the Utility gift shops in Liverpool ONE or on Bold Street. They’ve got so many cool quirky things, books, jewellery, Chilly’s water bottles, notebooks and diaries, phone cases and lots of stuff for the home because who wouldn’t love a gorgeous candle or diffuser or a cute plant holder?
LFC and EFC shops
Because Santa’s a neutral when it comes to footy, you can get all you need for Reds or Blues fans direct from the club shops. Whether it’s replica kit or just some official merch (footy PJs or a crest beanie maybe?) then you’ll get them at the LFC store in Liverpool ONE or the EFC store, Everton Two, both on South John Street. And if you’re in the north end, there’s always the Everton One shop by Goodison too.
The Beatles Story Fab4 Store
This is definitely your go-to shop for pressies for Beatles fans because it’s got one of the biggest collections of official band merchandise in the world so you’re bound to spot something special. You can take your pick from shops at the Albert Dock and the Pier Head where you’ll find a huge selection of T-shirts, CDs, posters, books, games, toys and exclusive gifts.
