Liverpool Christmas Market is back for 2022 and it’s bigger and better than ever before
The most wonderful time of the year is finally upon us as the Liverpool Christmas Market has finally taken over St. George’s Plateau and William Brown Street. With the smell of roasted chestnuts, curry-wursts, and Nutella loaded crepes, the festive stalls are drawing visitors in for a cracking Christmas experience.
From now until Christmas Eve Liverpool Christmas Market will be providing visitors with festive food, boss drinks, perfect prezzies to buy, as well as some fantastic entertainment for all the family.
Clarke Storey of Clarke Events said:
“We are thrilled to welcome visitors back this year to the Liverpool Christmas Market. We think we have made this year even more magical with our newest addition of a double height vintage carousel, a giant globe for photo moments, more exciting games, new food offerings, as well as some traditional roasted chestnut stalls throughout the event to fill the air with the smell of the festive season.
“This year you can expect more local entertainment, a wider range of international street foods and treats, some new and exciting crafters and the return of our popular Snow-slide, Ferris Wheel, Santa Land and wide range of bars including the Karaoke ski lifts.”
When is it open?
The market is open NOW, and will run until Christmas Eve. It will be open 11am – 9pm Monday – Wednesday, 11am – 10pm Thursday – Sunday, and for Christmas Eve the market will be open from 11am – 4pm.
How do I get there?
The markets are at St. Georges Plateau just outside St. Georges Hall which is only over the road from Liverpool Lime Street station. So whether you’re from the (best) city, or you’re just visiting, the markets are easy to reach. Northern Rail and national rail services call at Lime Street and there’s a Merseyrail station if you’re arriving from the Wirral.
The Liverpool Christmas market is only a six minute walk from Central station and a five minute walk from Queen Square bus station. There is plenty of parking nearby, including St John’s Shopping Centre, the Queen Square Q Park and Mount Pleasant Car Park.
What food can I tuck into?
Food Stalls have your usual favourites like – Yorkshire pudding wraps, bratwurst, noodles, salt & pepper chicken, halloumi, greek gyros & souvlaki, roast pork baps, mac n cheese, burgers, siu mai, donuts, waffles, crepes, fudge, sweets, home bakes (including vegan), hot crumble pudding which looks incredible! Also… brownies, cookies, hot cookie dough, cotton candy, popcorn, hot roasted chestnuts, loukoumades, churros and macaroons.
What about drinks?
There will be a range of fully stocked bars (Alpine, Tipi Tent, Barrel Bars, Windmill, Apres Ski), where you can also see entertain from local acts. This year bubble tea will be served for the first time along with winter warmer favourites like hot chocolate, tea, coffee, hot cider, and hot mulled wine.
What can the kids get up to?
Santa Lands, Snow Slide, Carousel, the Big Wheel, Games Stalls and Selfie items all around should be enough to keep the little ones occupied while you have a nose around the gift and food stalls.
Can I do my Christmas shopping there?
You will be able to pick up all sorts of goodies like – wooly items (slippers, hats, gloves, scarfs, blanket hoodies), jewellery (celtic, swarovski, silver, handmade, earings, necklaces etc), mini lego art, scented candles, bath bombs, room sprays, crystals, ornaments, garden statues, local art prints, cheese, O’donnell’s Moonshine, paper stars and lamps. So you’re bound to find that perfect gift for someone.
