And hotels in the city are waiting and willing to join in the love fest with extra special touches and great deals to make sure Cupid’s arrow lands bang on target…
‘Will You Marry me, ‘I love you’ or just ‘Happy Valentine’s Day’ perhaps? Whatever the message you want to convey to the love of your life, INNSiDE by Melia in Old Hall Street is happy to write it on the mirror in your room when you stay.
They’ll also shape your towels like beautiful swans and scatter rose petals, and all you have to do is ask. If you want to add a bottle of fizz, you can arrange that with the hotel bar in advance.
The urban chic hotel in Jamaica Street has got its own Duck & Swagger pub, and Shoreditch-style restaurant, The Baltic Brasserie, where you can wine and dine your other half with special Valentine’s Day menus throughout the ‘week of love’ – and it’s got live acoustic music in the restaurants on Friday and Saturday, February 11 and 12.
You could also have the Marshall Mini Bar fridge filled with a favourite fizz, play love songs on a record player with a selection of vinyl classics, and you can even arrange to have heart-shaped balloons and banners in the room, rose petals scattered on the bed, flowers, and more. There’s a range of packages to make your stay sweet including the £39 Romantic Package, which includes a bottle of chilled Prosecco, a heart balloon and rose petals in the room.
Making a romantic gesture doesn’t have to cost the earth and the Titanic Hotel at Stanley Dock has got just the thing if your love stretches to the moon and back – but your bank balance doesn’t. For only £99, Titanic’s ‘Love on the Docks’ overnight stay includes a full English Breakfast and a bottle of wine on arrival night (white/red/rose wine, it’s your choice).
If you are looking for the ultimate relaxing getaway, you could add a visit to its Maya Blue Wellness spa sanctuary, which is offering a 55-minute ESPA Couples’ Massage plus two hours in its tranquil thermal suite for £160 per couple throughout February. And, if it’s a romantic dinner for two you’re after, it’s serving a three-course Valentine’s Day dinner for two at Stanley’s Bar & Grill for £40 per person, including a glass of Bottega Rose Gold.
If you love them ‘yeah, yeah, yeah’, then the All You Need Is Love package at the Beatles-inspired hotel in North John Street might just be for you.
It’s been created for those with romance in mind and, from £225 (based on two sharing) you can stay in one of the hotel’s luxury rooms and have Champagne delivered to your room at a time that suits you – and there’s some extras to make it super-special, breakfast and a Penny Lane Teddy Bear to take home.
The 14-bed boutique hotel in Duke Street is only too happy to help you unlock the love when you stay.
It can arrange for bouquets of flowers to be delivered to the room, along with balloons, Champagne or Prosecco (or any other wine of your choice), chocolates, and, if you want anything else, ‘just ask’, and they say they’ll do their best to sort it. Love that!
Luxury comes as standard for this top city hotel, and when it comes to love they’re happy to give a helping hand. Their Romantic Package includes petals and truffles for £25, and there’s a Deluxe Romantic Package for £59 which includes a bottle of Prosecco too.
Balloons are also an option, and they will always consider any other special requests you might have. Of course, you could also treat yourself to a super-romantic dinner for two at the hotel’s London Carriage Works restaurant which has a five course St Valentine’s Day menu with canapes and Champagne, coffee and truffles for £85 per person.
You can score Brownie points with your other half with either of these Valentine’s Day packages at the Victoria Street hotel. Blue might be the colour, but it’s turning ‘red’ for Valentine’s Day:
Their Valentine’s Day Stay & Dine from £159 per couple includes an overnight stay in a luxury suite with double whirlpool bath, a three-course meal in No9 Restaurant and breakfast. While its Valentine’s Date Night Package from £199 per couple includes the overnight stay in a luxury suite with double whirlpool bath, a three-course meal in No9 Restaurant, breakfast, AND rose petals in the room, a dessert platter and chilled Prosecco.
If you’re looking to make it a romantic getaway, 30 James Street’s Ultimate Date Night Package does all but get the violins out. You can stay in one of their luxury rooms for the evening and they’ll add the sparkle for you with rose petals and chocolate truffles on your arrival.
Dinner will be served in the Carpathia roof top restaurant & bar and, the following morning, they’ll serve you a full English Breakfast. Available from Sunday to Thursday, prices start at £69 per person.
