Frances Molloy has spoken of her relief that the new legislation she has so tirelessly campaigned for will come into force from Monday 1 February.
The law governing tyres was changed last year after years of campaigning from Fran and the Tyred campaign after he son Michael Molloy was killed in a coach crash because of an old tyre in 2012.
Listen to Fran’s inspirational story in our podcast with her here in which she explains how tough it has been to fight for the law change and to get the government to listen and to act.
Frances said she never doubted this day would come and added: “I feel that I have finally done what I set out to do, and had to do, for my son.
“I am his mum. Who else was going to do this for him?
“Who else was going to make sure his life meant something, except me.
“It’s been a very long campaign and between us all we have achieved this law so that this can never happen again to another family.”
