Police continue to appeal for information following the murder of Malak Adabzadeh

Merseyside police detectives investigating the murder of 47-year-old Malak Adabzadeh in Stoneycroft on Thursday, 25 November, are continuing to appeal for information.

At around 4.55pm, emergency services were called to The Green to reports that Malak, an Iranian woman who resided in the Stoneycroft area, had been found in a house. She was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

A Home Office Post Mortem has confirmed the cause of her death as head trauma.

Three men (two aged 21 and 57 from Stoneycroft, and one aged 46 years from Norris Green) were arrested by police on suspicion of murder. Two of the men aged, 21 and 46 have now been bailed with conditions.

The 57-year-old, who was previously receiving treatment in hospital, remains in custody for questioning by detectives.

An extensive investigation is being carried out by police who remain at the scene while forensic examinations continue.

Detective Chief Inspector Simon Hurst said:

“Our enquiries into Malak’s tragic death continue and we would appeal to anyone who was in the area of The Green on Thursday afternoon who may have seen or heard anything, to get in touch.

“Similarly if you were driving in the area, which is close to the Rocket end of Edge Lane, and have dashcam footage, please review it and let us know if you see anything.

“We’re also keen for anyone who knew Malak from the Iranian community within Liverpool to come forward as a matter of urgency. If necessary, we have an interpreter and language line solutions to getting information to us, and work closely with partners including Liverpool Domestic Abuse Service on 0151 494 2222, Merseyside IDVA services, and Savera UK who can be contacted via 0800 107 0726.

“Any information you hold, however small, could be vital to our investigation. Whether you come forward to us directly or anonymously, through Crimestoppers, please get in touch.

“I’d also ask that anyone with information only provides it in the following ways, and doesn’t comment on social media platforms as this can jeopardise our vital enquiries. Thank you.”

Anyone with information on this incident can contact @MerPolCC, 101 or @CrimestoppersUK, anonymously on 0800 555 111 with reference 21000820292.

If someone is in immediate danger they should dial 999 and speak to an operator but we also accept that openly speaking is not always an option.

The Silent Solution is a service which means a vulnerable person can call 999 and alert us, by pressing ’55.’ This will indicate that help is needed and we will respond.
