Prepare to swoon as The Rat Pack Live from Las Vegas opens at Liverpool Empire

It really don’t mean a thing, if it ain’t got that swing, and there’s plenty at the Liverpool Empire this week.

The Rat Pack Live from Las Vegas opened at the Liverpool Empire last night and effortlessly transported us back to the golden era of 1950’s Las Vegas. Showing until Saturday 17th February 2018, The Rat Park Bringing the famous Sands Hotel lounge to Liverpool and crooning legends Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Junior to the stage, this West End, big band production will have you singing along and swaying in your seat, from the first song.

If three legends on one stage wasn’t enough, the first lady of swing, Ella Fitzgerald makes a guest appearance alongside the Burelli Sisters and a phenomenal big band. The moment Frank Sinatra actor, Garrett Phillips appeared on stage genuinely took our breath away, his likeness, mannerisms and of course, his sensational voice is so convincing, it could have been ol’ blue eyes himself on our Scouse stage.

We sang our hearts out to Rat Pack favourites such as The Lady is a Tramp, That’s Amore, What Kind of Fool Am I, Everybody Loves Somebody, Night and Day, S’Wonderful, as each character recreated the good old days on 50’s Vegas. Pouring themselves a scotch in between songs, lighting up a cigarette and chasing the Burelli Sisters, Frank, Dean and Sammy seamlessly recreated a time that many of the audience missed out on, whether it be with props, humour or stories of life in the fast lane as New Jersey’s favourite export. The Liverpool Empire audience stood with rapturous applause when Frank belted out My Way and gave us all goosebumps!
