Red Arrows confirmed to return to Southport Air Show 2026

The countdown is officially on as the world-famous Red Arrows have been confirmed to return to Southport Air Show later this year and they’ll be performing across both days of the event.

The iconic Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team will take to the skies over Southport seafront on Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 August 2026, promising another unforgettable weekend of aviation displays, family fun and jaw-dropping entertainment.

Returning as one of the headline attractions, the Red Arrows are expected to once again wow crowds with their signature precision flying, breathtaking formations and famous red, white and blue smoke trails across the coast.

And it’s not just the Reds heading to Southport, visitors can also look forward to displays from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, featuring the legendary Spitfire, Hurricane and Dakota aircraft, alongside the RAF Tutor, all set to appear across both days of the show.

One of the North West’s biggest annual events, Southport Air Show attracts tens of thousands of visitors each year, transforming the coastline into a huge family day out packed with aerial displays, attractions and entertainment on the ground too.

Sefton Council says securing the Red Arrows for 2026 has been months in the making.

Councillor Paulette Lappin, Sefton Council’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Skills and Employment, said: “We are absolutely delighted to welcome the Red Arrows back to Southport Air Show in 2026.

“It’s no secret that they are one of the most iconic display teams in the world and their performances always create a truly special atmosphere along our coastline.”

She added that organisers have been working hard behind the scenes to secure the Red Arrows and other RAF aircraft to make this year’s event one to remember.

As well as the spectacular flying displays, organisers say there’ll be plenty happening on the ground too, with family entertainment, attractions and activities for visitors of all ages.

Famous for its unique coastal setting, Southport Air Show gives visitors incredible views as aircraft soar above the resort’s beach and promenade.
