REVEALED: The top 9 most popular Scouse selfie hot spots

Are you the owner of the most scouse Instagram account going?

We’ve scoured the interweb to find out which Merseyside landmarks are the most loved by selfie-takers the world over and you lot really do love getting snappy. From joining the fab four line-up on the Pier Head, to boxing with Ali down the Baltic Triangle and pranking calling from the Ex Directory phone box, millions have taken to social media to show off our amazing city with pride.

So whether you’ve Snapchatted spreading your wings as a Liver Bird, Instastory’d your allegiance to Anfield or cosied up to John Lennon with tourists on Mathew Street, you need all 9 of these pics to count yourself a as true scouse selfie master.

Here’s our top 9 most popular Scouse Selfie hot spots…..

1 – The Fab Five? Pier Head

Are you the fifth Beatle? Tourists, hen parties and locals alike have clocked up thousand upon thousands of selfies with The Beatles statues at Pier Head and who wouldn’t treasure a well framed pic with our beloved Liver Birds in the background too?

2 – Say Cheers not cheese at The Kissing Gate, Liverpool John Lennon Airport

If you don’t check in on Facebook at The Kissing Gate, are you even going on holiday? Add a ‘girls holiday’, ‘stag party’, ‘Our Margie’s 50th’ selfie, complete with rollers and prosecco (or beers) and you’re on your way to Scouse Selfie ninja level.

3 – Spread you Liver Bird Wings, Baltic Triangle.

The latest edition to the Scouse Selfie phenomenon popped up at Baltic Triangle over the summer, and Instagrammers and international press alike went mad. You’re not a true Liver Bird without your wings. Watch above as we met the artist who created them, Paul Curtis.

4 – Fascinators at the Ready, it’s the Grand National

Its the weekend all self-respecting scousers look forward to. A chance to glam up, have a few bevvies, win a few quid (hopefully) and of course, batter your social media with selfies from Aintree. The Grand National wouldn’t be half as much fun without fascinator and suited up snaps.

5 – This is Anfield, Er Anfield

Another act of pride comes from the Liverpool FC, Anfield official tour and stretching your arms up to touch the iconic ‘This is Anfield’ plaque above the entryway to the pitch. Reds fans have been known to get a bit emotional about it too.

6 – Pics from Another Place, Crosby Beach

They’ve been submerged in the waters of the Irish Sea, dressed in all manner of random t-shirts and peed on by scouse dogs for almost 10 years now, but the Iron Men, of Another Place, Crosby Beach are definitely on the scouse selfie list. Add #CheckOutMeNewFella or #PulledHaventI and you’ve nailed it.

7 – Up the Toffees, Goodison Park

Liverpool Statue

Couldn’t possibly leave out the legend that is Dixie Dean. For some loyal blues, a weekly selfie with the man himself at Goodison is as much a ritual as the match itself. Rub his boots before you go into Everton’s ground for a bit of good luck and a nod from your fellow toffees.

8 – Dabbers at the Ready! Bongo’s Bingo at Camp & Furnace

The Guide Liverpool, Nightlife

If you haven’t experienced Bongo’s Bingo at Camp & Furnace, you’re missing out on what’s now a scouse institution. Selfies here usually consist of a smoky haze, people standing on tables, tables littered with tonnes of empty glasses and your silhouette against all the madness. Boss nights out.

9 – Superlamba-what-now?

It’s called a SUPER-LAMB-ANANA

Whether you go old school and get a pic with the original yellow Superlambanana’s, or scope out the other designs dotted around the city, these weird and wonderful little mascots that we adopted back in capital of culture year continue to pop up on socials around the world. Mainly because tourists haven’t got a friggin clue what they are!
