See the city like never before with 10 tiny pics from Honey, I Shrunk Liverpool

We’re all familiar with traditional photos of our beautiful Liverpool landmarks, but we’ll bet you haven’t seen them like this before.

If you follow one new Twitter, Facebook or Insta account in 2018, make it Honey, I Shrunk Liverpool, a utterly brilliant series of photographs that capture not only our famous and most treasured landmarks, venues and Scouseisms, but also tiny figures that make us see our beloved city in a whole new light.

We caught up with digital creative and photographer, Cathryn Appleton, the creator of Honey, I Shrunk Liverpool for a natter about this brand new population of mini figures and how they’ve taken the city by storm.

Cathryn spends her days creating kick ass media for everyone’s favourite Scouse shop, Home & Bargain (Home Bargains elsewhere) but since July 2017, she’s turned her creative flair to her trusty camera and created mini works of art at various locations around Liverpool, she said: ” Although I have a creative job, I love nothing more than coming home, grabbing my camera and heading out to take my own photos and doing something fun with my skills.

“I’d seen some similar pictures online last year and I was getting a bit bored with taking generic shots of the city so I took my first Honey, I Shrunk Liverpool photo on 24th July at LIMF 2017 and it’s just gone on from there. I get the little figures from Ebay but modify each one to suit the situation.”

Cathryn has created and captured more than 65 incredible images, through sunshine, snow, celebrations, late nights, early mornings and memorable moments that have truly captured the heart of us Scousers. 2018 is likely to be a busy year as Cathryn concentrates on building her new website to include a shop feature where fans can buy prints and greeting cards of their favourite image, or as we expect, a full gallery!

Cathryn added: “I’m looking forward to getting the images up for sale online and working with more brands and businesses on commissions throughout 2018.”
