Southport Flower Show has announced that one of Britain’s best-loved comedy performers, Su Pollard, will appear at this year’s show on Friday 21st August.

Su Pollard is instantly recognisable for her vibrant personality and larger-than-life stage presence. She shot to fame playing Peggy Ollerenshaw in the hit BBC sitcom Hi-de-Hi! and went on to become a staple of British television variety, pantomime, and musical theatre, with memorable appearances in shows such as You Rang, M’Lord? and Oh, Doctor Beeching!. Known for her distinctive voice, comic timing and boundless energy, Su has enjoyed a decades-long career spanning TV, stage and music, and remains a firm favourite with live audiences across the UK for her warmth, humour and unmistakable flair.

Alan Adams, General Manager of the Southport Flower Show, said:

“We are delighted to welcome Su to this year’s show. It’s a great day out and we are sure our visitors will love listening to Su’s talks/Q&As in the Garden Theatre at 1pm and 4pm.”

This year’s star-studded line-up includes leading horticultural experts Adam Frost, Arit Anderson and Joe Swift from BBC Gardeners’ World, alongside Lee Burkhill and Lee Connelly, all offering expert advice, inspiration and practical gardening tips.

A host of special guests will also be appearing throughout the show, including Kevin Duala, who returns as this year’s show compère. Joining him are Springwatch favourites Iolo Williams and Megan McCubbin, Strictly Come Dancing star Anton Du Beke, and popular children’s entertainers Andy Day and Justin Fletcher.
