One of the biggest theatre shows on the planet has arrived at Liverpool Playhouse Theatre 🎭

Starring the phenomenal Jodie Comer, Prima Facie is a complete sell out and on until Saturday.

We spoke to Mark Da Vanzo of Liverpool Everyman & Playhouse about the impact the production will have on the theatre and culture across the city.

It’s a homecoming gig for Jodie, who visited the theatre with her family when she was a child, an experience that helped her learn her craft and make her this incredible actress she is today.

Julie Dale spoke at a special event today aimed at educating young people about Violence Against Women and Girls, sharing her story after losing her daughter Ashley to gun crime in August 2022.

Around 80 girls from eight Merseyside schools came together today for an event hosted by Merseyside Police and LFC Foundation, the session is part of a wider campaign bringing VAWG awareness into secondary schools across the region.

A new night-time safety charter designed to keep people safe has been launched in Liverpool.

It is a list of safety pledges that bars, clubs and restaurants which are open from 6pm – 6am agree to sign up to.

By signing the charter, employers are communicating their commitment to a zero-tolerance stance on harassment and improving the safety of their staff and customers.

It will also benefit staff and customers in shops, gyms/leisure centres, transport, hotels, and cultural and hospitality venues after dark.

The charter promotes the ‘Ask for Angela’ scheme which enables anyone feeling unsafe, threatened, or vulnerable to discreetly seek help. This could be on a date or night out, when working out in the gym or just popping to the local shop.

Liverpool City Council is working with partners including Merseyside Police and Nightlife CIC on the night-time safety charter, which will offer:

▪️Free staff training
▪️Advice on how to help customers, and staff, report harassment and unacceptable behaviour
▪️Promotional material about the scheme to communicate with customers and staff
