And if you need any inspiration to get booking tickets, have a look at these 10 great shows and acts you can look forward to…
If the Summer of ’69 was looking good, the spring of ’22 is looking even better, with just two days before Grammy Award winning musician Bryan Adams arrives in the city. One of the most iconic rock musicians in the world, he’s sold more than 65 million albums worldwide, and this tour is in support of his 15th studio album, aptly titled So Happy It Hurts…because that’s just how we feel!
Two great acts in one! The Script celebrate a journey that’s included five UK No 1 albums, six billion streams, and over two million ticket sales with the release of the career-spanning greatest hits album ‘Tales From The Script’ and this UK tour – and they’re joined by none other than Ella Henderson.
If you’ve been Hunting High And Low for a top gig, look no further, as Morten Harket and the rest of the A-Ha crew promise a tour that’s different to anything they’ve done before. For the first half of the concert, they’ll be playing new and old, familiar and less-familiar songs then, after an interval, the 10 songs off their 1985 debut album in the running order of the original release including – of course – Hunting High And Low, Take On Me, Thought and more.
A little late due to Covid, White Ladder: The 20th Anniversary Tour celebrates the trailblazing album’s anniversary. David Gray said White Ladder was ‘jammed full with big, open hearted songs and flooded with a raw emotional energy’ and he added: “It’s an album that came from nowhere to steal the hearts of millions all over the world, completely transforming my life in the process.” Relive the album that catapulted him to worldwide fame and enjoy songs like Babylon and Sail Away.
Diana Ross says she’s looking forward to coming to the UK, with every concert a ‘blessing and a gift’, and the feeling is mutual for fans who can’t get enough of her amazing hits like Ain’t No Mountain High Enough, I’m Coming Out, Stop! In The Name of Love, and too many more to mention. You can also bank on stunning costumes, fabulous sets, and chat from the Motown legend. It’s her Thank You tour – but the thanks are all ours.
What’s occurring? Gavin and Stacey legend Rob Brydon – who surprised us all with his amazing voice – is here to entertain, that’s what, with A Night of Songs and Laughter! With the help of a live band Rob delivers a personal musical journey from South Wales to the West End and beyond with songs from Tom Waits to Tom Jones, Guys and Dolls to Elvis (and almost everything in between), along with hilarious tales from his recent and not-so-recent past.
It’s the best thing that could happen to us – the arrival of The Empress of Soul. Gladys Knight is celebrating more than five decades of incredible music with a series of special UK dates, and with amazing hits like Midnight Train To Georgia (which remains one of the most famous Motown records to date and was honoured as one of ‘The Greatest Songs Of All Time’ by Rolling Stone Magazine), Help Me Make It Through The Night, and the classic bond theme, Licence To Kill.
We are so the lucky ones! Global superstar Christina Aguilera announced she was heading back to the UK for only three headline shows this August – and one of them is here in Liverpool! Expect all the hits including, ‘Dirrty’, ‘Ain’t No Other Man’, ‘Fighter’ and ‘Genie in a Bottle’, as well as more arena-filling anthems.
What cracking weekend this is going to be with not one, but two, nights of comedy from ‘Bobby Dazzler’ Sarah Millican. In her sixth international tour, you can learn about what happens when your mouth seals shut, trying to lose weight (but only losing the tip of your finger), and a surprisingly funny smear test! Geordie comic Sarah says she’s spent the last year writing jokes – and growing her backside – and can’t wait to get back on the road.
The Empress of Soul Gladys Knight is celebrating more than five decades of incredible music with a series of special UK dates, and with amazing hits like Midnight Train To Georgia (which remains one of the most famous Motown records to date and was honoured as one of ‘The Greatest Songs Of All Time’ by Rolling Stone Magazine), Help Me Make It Through The Night, and the classic bond theme, Licence To Kill.
And, last but not least, the multi-platinum selling George Ezra is bringing his new tour to Liverpool this September. Along with familiar hits like Shotgun, Paradise, and Anyone For You (Tiger Lily), he’ll be singing songs from his forthcoming album, Gold Rush Kid – due for release on June 10 – which he says are transporting, elevational songs, that more than anything ‘sound like me. That’s what ties them together’. We can’t wait.
