“Our homes are places we want to show off, relax, workout or work and we’ve definitely seen a trend where customers are more invested in little tweaks rather than a major makeover,” says John Lewis marketing executive Lora Johnson.

“We need our spaces to be a lot more flexible now because the way we spend time in our homes has changed and customers are definitely more focused on being able to swap things around by using accessories to give a room a little lift.

“Even adding storage or cushions can give you that sense of a change of scene which I think we’re all really looking for at the moment.”

Lora says John Lewis’s ANYDAY range has been created in response to customer trends towards more regular updates of smaller affordable pieces that can be simply brought in then taken out.

A new 45-minute one, Refresh for Less, gives instant style advice about making little changes rather than larger permanent ones.

Style Advice can help you pull together a scheme for a room and the more in-depth Design Consultation can create an interior scheme with a mood board for larger projects.

The team’s services are available in-store or online, or a mix of both.

“You could have a virtual consultation first to show the stylist your space, you might prefer to have that face-to-face contact so you get to feel all the fabrics, or you could choose a hybrid of both. The change and the choice are up to you.”
