Voyagers: Liverpool’s newest dining experience opens on Parr Street

Liverpool has got another great new restaurant as Voyagers on Parr Street opens its doors.

Voyagers is an amazing venue at the heart of the Ropewalks district in Parr Street, and it’s diving into the city’s maritime heritage for inspiration that’s going to make it an absolute go-to for diners.

Head chef Jake Parry is already excited: “I feel like we’re bringing something new, something different to Liverpool.”

And better still is the news that until Monday, May 6, there’s a special launch offer of 50% off food (so that could be your Bank Holiday weekend taken care of too)!

The restaurant, whose name is a nod to the poem A Voyager’s Dream of Land by Duke Street-born poet Felicia Hemans, is a 70-seater dining destination with a 100-seater bar.

Its super-chic interior boasts a contemporary look with lots of muted tones swimming with maritime teals, blues and sand colours, and it’s got a gorgeous green-filled atrium that has an incredible fresh and outdoor feel, along with a fabulous light-filled open chef’s table.

The menu will give guests a mix of globally-inspired dishes with a local twist, a selection of 35 wines, and lush signature cocktails – like the salted melon cooler made from a locally-distilled gin.

Dishes include chargrilled smoked venison flatbread, Tandoori spiced monkfish cheeks and nduja scotch egg to classics like fish and chips; while lunch offerings boast Japanese-inspired sandos using Baltic Bakehouse focaccia with fillings like salt and pepper chicken – a nod to neighbouring Chinatown – Katsu tofu, and more.

Jake, who’s worked at The Woodcote Hotel in London and Pinion in Prescot, says he’s loved experimenting with different flavours and using locally-sourced ingredients to create unique dishes and new tastes.

He says: “The most popular dish will be the sticky braised beef – I think that’s already getting a reputation for itself.

“The mushroom gnocchi will also prove to be quite popular – and the nduja scotch eggs is a personal favourite of mine.”

The restaurants is open for breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner: “I feel like we’ve got something for every time of the day,” adds Jake.

As part of their experience, guests at Voyagers can choose from a range of bespoke cocktails, including a selection created using locally-made Lost Dock Rum and the specially-distilled Halyard Gin made by Turncoat, a small batch gin distillery in Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle.

Craft beers include Black Lodge Pilsner, and the extensive wine list features options from around the world.

With a full table service throughout Voyagers, you know you’ll never have to vie for a space at the bar. Its friendly staff are primed to come to you, so all you need to do is sit back, relax and enjoy your experience.

“Liverpool is constantly evolving in terms of its food and beverage scene,” continues Jake, “and it’s fantastic to be a part of its story.”

Curtis Goodwin, restaurant and bar manager, agrees: “Whether you’re enjoying a night out as a couple or with a group of friends, grabbing a quick bite before a day of exploring the city, or looking for a spot to kick off your evening, we have something for everyone.”
