The first instalment of this show at the Royal Court went down a storm, so it’s returning for a second! It’s time to roll back the clock again to the 80s because our couple who found love are about to tie the knot – but can they survive stag chaos? Funny, heartwarming and full of 80s hits, it opens this Tuesday.

Lightport in Southport

Here’s one for the whole family to enjoy – Lord Street is turning into a walk-through rainbow of colour with a free immersive light and sound experience by international artists Lucid Creates. A 400-metre route, starting at Mermaid Gardens, lights up between 5pm and 9pm this Saturday to Monday.

If you’re a fan of Florence and the Machine then this Friday is going to be a massive one at the Arena because they’re back as part of the Everybody Scream Tour. It promises to be more of a spectacle than just a gig, with Florence’s incredible vocals combining with her trademark theatricality.

Kids love Horrible Histories – even the ones that aren’t that keen on learning history in class – because it makes every era, event and character seem like fun. Horrible Histories the Concert is at the Empire on Friday and Saturday, bringing historical figures from Shakespeare to Henry VIII to life, all with live music.

With an incredible 11 platinum singles to his name, and worldwide streams into the billions, James Arthur has come a long way since his X Factor days (2012, save Googling!) and he’s known for being brilliant live. His Pisces world tour comes to the Arena on Saturday, so could be a top Valentine pressie.

Half term’s coming up and that means the return of panto which is guaranteed to put a smile on your face even in February. St Helens Theatre Royal’s pantos are always among the best and from Saturday it’s got a classic, Jack and the Beanstalk, with X Factor and Eton Road star David Heath in the title role.
