Blood Brothers at Liverpool Empire

A strong contender for Liverpool’s favourite ever musical, Willy Russell’s Blood Brothers returns to the Empire this Tuesday until Saturday March 22. Tissues ready as Niki Colwell Evans reprises her role as Mrs Johnstone, with songs including Bright New Day, Marilyn Monroe and tear-jerker Tell Me It’s Not True.

St Patrick’s Day Weekender at BOXPARK

The Guinness is going to be flowing this weekend as Liverpool is taken over by massive St Patrick’s Day celebrations. Kick things off on Friday at BOXPARK with St Patrick’s Day themed Drag Bingo, complete with pot-o-luck bingo cards, River Dancing games and live music from the Sky Larks.

Bombed Out Church Makers Market on Sunday

Spring means Makers’ Markets are back and hopefully in the suns at the Bombed Out Church. From 10am to 4pm this Sunday, you’ll find some of the region’s best makers, bakers and creators. It’s free and if you make a £1 donation on entry it goes towards the church upkeep and community projects.

Carabao Cup Final screening at M&S Bank Arena

Anyone who didn’t manage to get a ticket to see Liverpool take on Newcastle on Sunday needn’t miss out on the incredible atmosphere of the match because the Arena is showing it live. Fans can join the crowd to watch all the action on a giant screen. Doors open at 2.30pm for kick-off at 4.30pm.

If you’re looking for something free and fun to do with the kids, take them on Mildred’s Albert Dock Art Trail. Pick up a booklet from Tate at its temporary home in RIBA North Mann Island and follow Mildred the cat’s map to see if you can find six images of artworks dotted around the inner quay of the dock.
