Have you ever actually gotten off the train at Liverpool South Parkway Station? Oh you haven’t lived! Right in the heart of South Liverpool there’s so much to see and do and Autumn is the best time to check out the parks, pubs and shopping opportunities of the leafy suburbs.
As mainline train journeys begin and end at Liverpool South Parkway for the next couple of weeks, commuter journeys are set to be 10 to 15 minutes longer as local Merseyrail trains and replacement bus services, transport you into the city. To be fair, Liverpool Lime Street Station has been in need of a revamp for a while, and despite the disruption, these essential works will mean better rail travel for us all over the winter period and beyond. Liverpool South Parkway Station also boasts a big bus terminal and so jumping off the train and straight onto a regular bus service to explore South Liverpool is really easy. Stick your wellies on and go explore the tonnes of South Liverpool green spaces this Autumn. From Allerton Towers to Calderstones Park and even the wild Speke and Garston Coastal Reserve. There’s miles of footpaths to wander and plenty of free fresh air fun.
Sounds like a bit of bold claim that, but Liverpool South Parkway is the closest station to Liverpool John Lennon Airport so in all fairness, it really is a gateway to the world. With a dedicated bus transfer between the two with ample space for luggage, you can travel to the airport in comfort.
