Wirral's first healthy dog food store Raw 4 Paws opens

Wirral’s largest healthy dog food store has opened on Wheatland Lane Business Park in Seacombe.

Raw 4 Paws have helped hundreds of thousands of dogs since forming in 2015 and have now opened a 7,500sqft superstore that offers a vast range of healthy alternatives for dogs, cats and reptiles.

The huge new superstore stocks local and national brands from Mersey Raw to Nutriment and you’ll find everything from venison marrowbones and pheasant to beef and chicken complete meals. The aim of the family business is to encourage owners to choose healthier diets and lives for their dogs, rather than feed them processed supermarket junk, and it can even work out cheaper in many cases.

Whereas most well-known dog food brands contain less than 10% meat, Raw 4 Paws offers premium quality food and treats at a low cost. Whether it’s chicken, goat, lamb, rabbit, ostrich or anything in between, the superstore has an ethos of helping dogs live a healthy lifestyle at a price that’s very affordable to owners.

Raw 4 Paws have been a leading local business in the raw, natural dog food revolution since 2015. The new superstore, located on Wheatland Lane opposite the Mona Castle pub, has become the biggest in Wirral and also offers dog ice cream, supplements, toys, accessories, an in house dog groomers, a dog wash station, regular events and more coming soon.

Owner Dave Parry said:

“As a family of dog lovers, we’re very passionate about dogs’ health and when we started the business our aim was to help as many dogs as possible. Unfortunately, a lot of the stuff you find on the supermarket shelves is low in quality and meat content so we’re trying to encourage as many owners as possible to go down the raw, natural route.”

Dave’s Daughter, Hayley, said:

“If people change their habits and shop here in store or online, it will lead to their dog being healthier and happier but it is also very affordable — it’s a myth that it’s a lot more expensive. For us, it’s a no brainer for owners. We have an online shop and offer a delivery service but it’s always great to connect with owners in store and help educate them on ingredients etc.”

Raw 4 Paws became the second ever store of its kind in Wirral when it first opened, receiving hundreds of 5 star reviews, and the new superstore has now opened due to overwhelming demand. With an in house groomer and wash station, the new site aims to become a wellbeing hub for dogs — with big plans to develop the site and big dog events already in the calendar.

On Saturday 21st October there’s a free Autumn Special event from 10am — 4pm featuring pup cups, Halloween goodie bags and a wide range of stalls for dogs and adults, with dog photoshoots available. Coming soon is a big Christmas Special on 9th December — with an abundance of stalls and Christmas themed treats for dogs.

Hayley added:

One of the most touching things about the new Raw 4 Paws superstore is the giant dog mural that includes some of the family’s dogs who passed away — a fitting tribute and testament to the family’s love of dogs. Through helping them lead healthier lives, they truly believe they can make the world a better place one dog at a time.

“We absolutely love what we do and enjoy meeting owners and dogs in store — it gives us a great sense of satisfaction to know we’re improving dogs’ lives. The new Raw 4 Paws superstore is located at Unit 1, Wheatland Lane Business Park, Wheatfield Lane in Seacombe — with an online store and delivery also.
