Zoe’s Place begins new chapter as Little Lights Liverpool

Liverpool Zoe’s Place has revealed its new name Little Lights Liverpool Baby Hospice, marking the start of an exciting new chapter.

This comes as work begins on a state-of-the-art children’s hospice at Hayman’s Green in West Derby.

The transformation to Little Lights Liverpool represents more than a name change. It signals a bold step forward, building on decades of compassionate care while preparing to support even more babies, children and families across the North West. While the name is new, the heart of the organisation remains unchanged, the same dedicated staff, the same families, and the same unwavering commitment to providing expert, specialist care.

Little Lights

Liverpool Zoe’s Place was saved from closure by the incredible generosity of people across Merseyside and the UK, in just 30 days in October 2024 and will now, as Little Lights Liverpool Baby Hospice, continue to serve the community it cares for. That extraordinary show of support not only secured the hospice’s future but demonstrated just how deeply valued it is by the families and communities it supports.

The name Little Lights was chosen following the “Same Heart, Fresh Start” competition held last year, with the winning entry submitted by Amelia of St Paul’s Catholic Junior School in West Derby and was unveiled at the amazing Liverpool Zoe’s Place Thank You concert held at the M&S Bank Arena in July last year. The name was inspired by the idea that every child shines brightly and the new name reflects moments of light, hope and joy that the hospice helps create for families during the most challenging times.

Krol Corlett Construction have now started work on the new purpose-built hospice which will enable Little Lights Liverpool Baby Hospice to expand its reach and services, ensuring more children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions can access the care they need. The new facility at Hayman’s Green in West Derby will provide modern, specialist spaces designed around the needs of children and families, enabling the charity to grow its impact while continuing the legacy of Liverpool Zoe’s Place.

Little Lights development

Barry Kushner, Project Manager at Little Lights Liverpool Baby Hospice said:

“Little Lights is a name that truly reflects who we are and what we do. While our name is changing, our mission remains exactly the same, to be there for families when they need us most, providing care, comfort and moments of joy. When the new hospice is open, we will offer even more.”

Designed by B&L Creative, a local Liverpool design agency, the new brand identity reflects warmth, individuality and adaptability, designed to grow with the charity as it enters this new phase.

Little Lights Liverpool will continue to stand as a place of support, strength and compassion, ensuring that every child and family it cares for is seen, supported and celebrated, now and for generations to come.
