19 of the best places to enjoy outside bevies in Liverpool during summer 2022

Gorgeous sunshine definitely equals outdoor drinks and Liverpool’s lucky to have loads of places to have them.

Ditch the air-con and find yourself a spot under a massive umbrella to get some fabulous views while you order in the cocktails and beers, or a few glasses of chilled prosecco.

If that sounds like your perfect afternoon and evening, here’s where to enjoy outside bevies in Liverpool for summer 2022 …

Mamasan

Especially for summer, Mamasan in Liverpool ONE has teamed up with Liverpool Disco Festival for outdoor terrace parties from Thursday to Sunday. Saturdays will be an all-day Disco Garden Party with DJs, live music, cocktails and small plates, Thursdays has classics from the icons in Discography and Fridays are Out of the Office and Into the Garden, with funk, soul and disco from 5pm.

Bridewell

The Bridewell was named CAMRA Pub of the Year for 2022 and it’s just been shortlisted for the Great British Pub Awards, which are like the pub Oscars, so it’s already been a very decent year for one of Liverpool’s most unique and friendly places. Find out for yourself and enjoy a great choice of craft and continental beers, gins and ciders in and around the front courtyard of the old Victoria prison.

Alma De Cuba

Liverpool outside terrace beer garden - Alma De Cuba

Alma De Cuba is one of Liverpool’s most iconic venues and it’s just opened the doors to its brand new sun terrace over-looking sunny Seel Street. There’s a new Cuban-inspired food menu to tuck into and some very sexy looking cocktails being served up too. Music is on outside until 8pm and the good times will be flowing all summer long!

Roxy Ball Room terrace

Inside it’s all about the booze and ball games, made for dates and mates – pool, shuffleboard, beer pong and ping pong – but now the weather’s nice Roxy Hanover Street’s got a little gem of a roof terrace too with plenty of outdoor seating so you can sit in the sunshine and work your way through a menu of signature and classic cocktails – top tip, the Ping Star Martinis are the ones to go for.

Riva Blu

On the absolute sun trap corner of Castle Street and Dale Street, what was Gino’s is now Riva Blu and it’s the most gorgeous spot for drinks and food when it’s hot. Get out under the big black parasols and then it’s Aperol Spritzes and lovely Italian food, maybe some sharing boards, bruschetta and antipasti, all the way until sunset – plus it’s a great place if you love a bit of people watching.

Zenn

A new roof terrace to add to your list, Zenn on Victoria Street is a beautiful go-to for Pan Asian dishes, tempura and sushi, late night drinks and dancing. Over summer until 10pm its Zenn garden and rooftop bar is the place to go for iced coffees, cocktails, sake sharers and wine coolers plus tunes from resident DJs and an all-day BBQ menu which is perfect for filling up a table to share in the sunshine.

Aether, Liverpool ONE

If you’re doing some shopping or going out around Liverpool ONE then Chavasse Park is always going to be your best bet for a lovely outdoor space and Aether couldn’t be better placed, overlooking all that green which just screams sunbathing. There’s a dedicated spritz menu for the terrace including a caipirinha one if all these super-high temperatures have got you feeling a bit Rio carnival.

Madre, Albert Dock

Madre outside bevies

There are so many fantastic places to eat and drink outside at the dock, but Madre is definitely right up there at the top for its lovely enclosed courtyard space with lots of umbrellas to you give you some shade when it’s a scorcher. Never mind drawing the curtains, we reckon margaritas, tacos, guac and chips and ice cold beers are the best way to keep your cool.

Hilton terrace

Hilton

It feels like you’re watching the world go by with a drink in your hand when you’re sitting out under the trees on the pretty outdoor terrace at the Hilton in Liverpool ONE. The Hilton’s teamed up this summer with Love Lane Brewery and The Botanist Gin to create something special, including a dedicated gin cocktail list, a menu of bar bites to share and live music at weekends.

Tempest on Tithebarn

On Tithebarn Street, you’ll find a rooftop bar with a cool downtown Manhattan feel – just walk through the ground floor Tempest on Tithebarn main bar with its all-day menu and take the lift to the top level. As well as being the place where their bees live (look and you can spot their hives), you’ll get fabulous views of the waterfront and a dedicated terrace bar serving Tempest spritzes and slushes.

Nova Scotia on Mann Island

In a historic location celebrating the city’s maritime past, the latest venue from the team behind Ma Boyle’s and Tempest on Tithebarn, Nova Scotia on Mann Island is in a prime sun-soaked place right by the waterfront. Close to the Museum of Liverpool and the Three Graces, it’s got an all-day menu from breakfasts through to evening and a great selection of drinks and signature cocktails.

Papillon

On the Toxteth Riviera, next door to the equally gorgeous Quarter, you’ll find Papillon on the corner of Falkner Street and Hope Street. And if you’re really lucky you’ll manage to grab one of the outdoor tables under the dusky pink awnings while you enjoy iced coffees, chilled wine and fizz, or beers and food outside with views of the cathedral that remind you why Liverpool is such a looker.

PINS Social Club

If you want more than just drinks on a rooftop session then PINS on Duke Street is one to try. Alongside its regular lanes and table games, it’s launched an old school American-style summer camp for 2022 so now there’s retro camp cabins, deckchairs, swing seats and mirror balls, as well as outdoor games, DJs and live music. PINS is also serving themed cocktails, slushies, sharers and US camp-style food.

McCooley’s Mathew Street

McCooley’s is obviously a big place to go in Liverpool for watching live sport – not long til the footy kicks off again – but on Mathew Street it’s also somewhere to top up your tan because it’s got a huge rooftop space and a brand new outdoor bar. It’s happy hour until 5pm too, so get the cheap beers in and you get to have the craic while it’s cracking the flags.

Bus Yard

With Bus Yard you don’t just get one fabulous place for outdoor drinks and street food – you get a choice of three. Look out for the converted double deckers at Cains, on Chavasse Park in Liverpool ONE and at Crosby Marina. There’s live music, amazing loaded fries and cocktails and in Crosby you can keep things extra cool with slushes for the kids and cocktails slushes for grown-ups.

Punch Tarmey’s Courtyard

Punch Tarmey’s in Cains Brewery Village is the city’s biggest Irish bar and that includes lots of space for outside drinking in the courtyard. It’s the ideal choice for a fun summer party and it’s always got a line-up of regular events so as well as good vibes and Guinness, look out for DJs in collab nights with In Demand Radio, live music and a whole load of dancing.

Goodness Gracious at Oh Me Oh My

Goodness Gracious has one of the most amazing locations in the whole city. Opposite the Liver Building, above the quirky Oh Me Oh My cafe, Goodness Gracious Roof Garden on the 8th floor of West Africa House has incredible views of the Three Graces and the river. It’s open Wednesday to Sunday until September for outdoor drinks, weather permitting, and they do a lovely afternoon tea in the sky!

River North, Berry Street

River North Liverpool, serves up amazing food, expertly crafted cocktails, and plenty of good times. The way the neighbourhood pub should be. As well as there mouth-watering menu which includes small plates, steaks, Sunday roasts and more you’ll also find one of the best sun traps in the city. The outside terrace is open now and the perfect spot for your summer.

Liberte

Another Liverpool fave and another sun terrace with incredible views of the Three graces and the city’s waterfront. Expect amazing cocktails, tasty pizza, great music and the perfect atmosphere when that sun is shining. Liberte is open seven days a week and walks-ins are welcome.
