6 great ways to beat the January blues in Sefton

January is a tough month with short days, rubbish weather and the post festive blues to contend with.

But there are reasons to be cheerful in January, with plenty of good suggestions to get out of the house, from a woodland walk, to a farmer’s market and great meal ideas.

Here are six reasons to be cheerful in Sefton and help shake off the January blues.

Following two successful pre-Christmas events, the farmer’s market is back at Sunnyfields this Sunday from 10am-3pm.

As well as browsing the stalls from local traders, you can choose some tasty food from the butcher’s counter and pick up some early spring plants.

You can also meet the farm animals, including donkeys Brenda and Blodwyn, and keep the cold away with a coffee or hot chocolate.

Find Sunnyfields on Facebook.

We know a walk around Formby beach and woods is a great way to blow away the cobwebs.

This organised walk with the National Trust will kick start your 2023 with local staff helping boost your mood and learn more about the wonderful wildlife on this part of the Sefton coastline.

The walk will take place on Tuesday 17th January from 10-11am. Meet at Victoria Road woodland car park notice board.

It’s free to take part and walkers are advised you bring a bottle of water and dress for the weather.
