6 Ways to spread some Christmas love in Liverpool this year
7 years ago
Singing loud and clear for all to hear is nice and all but there’s so much more we can do!
Christmas has long been a time of giving and us scousers are known for being a charitable lot, so what better time to spread a bit of goodwill than now? There’s so many different ways you can do something amazing for someone else across the Liverpool City Region this Christmastime, from picking up and extra gift for a little one, to helping with a food bank donation, or even serving up Christmas dinner to those facing a festive period alone, it’s easy to get involved.
Check out our top 6 ways to spread Christmas cheer in Liverpool this December.
1 – Keep a Kid Cosy – Kirsty Doyle
Scouse Fashion Designer extraordinaire, Kirsty Doyle has launched ‘Keep a Kid Cosy’ from her Nelson Street boutique and encourages you to donate a pre-loved children’s coat to benefit a local child this winter. Providing its clean, fully functional and can be dropped off at the store, you can keep a kid cosy in Liverpool this Christmas. Click here for more info.
2 – Cash for Kids – Mission Christmas
Radio City’s Cash for Kids is a cause we’re all familiar with at Christmastime and with your support, the charity raised over £1.1 million in gifts and cash to make Christmas special for more than 39,000 local kids. Get yourself into town on Saturday 9th December and see if you’re handed £5 in a pink envelope, completely free for no reason……Once you receive your fiver, you can spend it any way you like – it’s yours! Pay it forward in a coffee shop, buy some lunch for a homeless person, donate it to charity… the list of awesome things that you can do with your Awesome Fiver is endless! Yet a box full of foodstuff, toiletries, toys, whatever, could make a huge different to those struggling to get through the Christmas period. Find your local food bank here.
5 – Gift your time to the Paper Cup Project
The Paper Cup Project works tirelessly to support the Liverpool Homeless community and you can gift your time this December in ensuring someone receives a warm meal and a few kind words. Out on the city streets, regardless of the weather, The Paper Cup Project welcomes support from those willing to roll up their sleeves and muck in to help make a difference. Get in touch and pledge your support here.
6 – Charity Xmas Shop
If you’re still into sending Christmas Cards why not buy a charity pack to support a local cause?
